QNAP auf eigener Hardware

Beachte, dass du ggfls. für realtek extra Treiber in das Boot Image implementieren musst (das geht glaube ich bei der Erstellung direkt...musst diese .ko Datei in das ensprechende Verzeichnis kopieren....einfach mal lesen, irgendwo hier ist das erklärt, finde den Post nur gerade nicht).

Deswegen nutze ich z.b. nur Intel NICs, die werden von QNAP standardmässig unterstützt... Meine HDDs sind je am Marvell, Intel und LSI Controllern angeschlossen, alle werden korrekt vom System erkannt. (nutze nen Asrock SOC Xeon D1541 https://www.asrockrack.com/general/productdetail.asp?Model=D1541D4U-2O8R#Specifications )

So nun komme ich endlich zum antworten, als SATA Controller nutze ich einmal den Intel onboard und als weiteres einen Adaptec 71605 SAS Raid Controller und das ganze soll ohne VM dazwischen laufen, also Baremetal wie das so neudeutsch heißt.

 

Genaueres kann ich erst am Wochenende sagen da der Rechner der dafür genutzt werden soll grade ein wenig zu tun hat und ich keinen Zugriff drauf habe. Die Daten reiche ich aber nach. 

 

das mit den .ko files habe ich noch nicht verstanden wo die dann hin müssen und von wo man die bekommt.

Das wird vermutlich nur mit viel Aufwand laufen. Entweder bindest Du Treiber für den Adaptec mit ein (keine Ahnung wo das geht) oder doch einen ESXi auf der Hardware und darauf QNAP als VM. So habe ich es mit einem AVAGO SAS mit Expander (12 Platten!) laufen.

Vergiss die vielen grüne Böbbel (Einzelplatten) im QNAP und mach auf dem Adaptec ein gescheites Raid und gib dies als eine große Platte an das QNAP. Alles Andere ist qatsch da das QNAP-Software-Raid nie an die Performance Deines Adaptec rankommen wird...

Kann mir jemand erklären, warum mein RAM-Speicher nicht auf dem Dashboard angezeigt wird, ich habe versucht, ihre Adressen richtig einzugeben, aber es kann nicht identifiziert werden, ich mache etwas falsch und ich weiß nicht, wie ich es lösen soll wenn Sie mir helfen können, weiß ich es wirklich zu schätzen

Hi,I successfully installed the TS-453A model on a board with a j1800 processor, but I also have a board with an atom processor, so I thought I'd try the TS-469 pro but I don't know which one MODEL_TYPE= to put,where can I get that information?

Don't. x69 series is EOL and only support up to 4.3.4.1976 build 20220303 dated 2022-03-14. I have 2 x69 series (269 and 469) and happily running Xpenology DVA3221 instead of stock QTS on it. But I do wonder if I can load another model in this.

I already have NAS with DSM 7,DSM 6 of course Xpenology ,OMV4,OMV6 I just don't have QNAP :)

 

On this board,celeron J1800 and 4GB RAM-a,with the TS 453A emulation model the processor and memory are constantly at 90-100% occupancy and the web interface is often unavailable, just loading.Any solution for this?

 

Which model would you suggest for the board with AMD A6 5200,4 GB RAM and Intel gigabit NIC?I've already tried

but no luck with NIC.

Sorry for english in german forum. I don't speak germany.

I've tried to put TS-253D into TS-269 Pro. I'm currently testing it. Is there any mechanism to put serial number and mac addres like redpill does?

Edit: it seems I can't access any QNAP service, including AppCenter and firmware upgrade. I don't know if this has something to do with my installation. But this small experiment answered my question: it is possible to turn QNAP TS-269 Pro to TS-253D

Hint: you can figure out supported models by throwing any model number to the config, but you have to use a correct PATCHED_FIRMWARE version and let the tools extract the firmware. The script will return "Create model.conf failed". Corresponding models can be found in /initrd/etc/hal_util_*.conf.

I configured MODEL_TYPE as TS-451S and the firmware as TS-x85. Firmware version doesn't matter. Then I executed the script.

It will return as:

It's fine, because our goal is to figure out what MODEL_TYPE is supported in x85 firmware.

Now open "/home/tc/initrd/etc/" and locate "hal_util_*.conf" and try to open it. MODEL_TYPE is the file title, and the corresponding model name is written inside the text file. Here, I opened "hal_util_Q05S0_Q0650_10_10.conf" and inside the text, this model is declared as "TS-886". Hence, MODEL_TYPE=Q05S0_Q0650_10_10 corresponds to TS-886.

 

Note: x69 series doesn't work this way. They have their own firmware package and not pack any hal_util_*.conf. I checked for TS-269 and TS-469.

I can't really say. In my QNAP, the CPU and RAM usage was <20% for fresh install. Well, there were many broken packages so that result might be inaccurate.

What about in Xpenology? Windows? Ubuntu live? Is the same happened?

Or do your BIOS have power saving features like you'd found in laptops or ultrabooks (performance limiting features)? That thing is taking quite atoll on performance, you can feel Windows operate more sluggish even though it runs on SSD.

I'm wrong :( changing the model to TS-651 did not bring any change, I can only get to the loading screen,web interface unavailable.

On Xpenology DSM 7 never a single problem,Windows,Linux,ChromeOS work great.TS-651 have celeron dual core just like my board,

Asus J1800I-C,don't know where problem is...

I encountered that problem when I don't pull out my USB DOM (with original CSM firmware) when I tried to install. Try to reboot. What happened to me next was the USB became wiped. It just gone, shown as unpartitioned. Maybe legacy install?

 

By the way, what was the USB boot type? Is it legacy or UEFI? @pocopico

Glad to hear that work for you.

I don't know the exact answer, but you can use this info as reference:

x77(desktop)/x77XU(rack) - Ryzen Gen1 based

x73A(desktop)/x73AeU(rack) - V1000 based

x73/x73e - R series based (APU)

I can't find any reference for any AMD APU based QNAP other than x73, so that maybe as low as you can go.

Also you can try other intel based and see how it works. You can start by comparing the CPU capabilities. Maybe start with x51?

Check some Posts above...someone did already compile the needed .ko Driver file. This one you Mist then manually add when creating the boot disk.

It is easy to boot from SATA/IDE port.

Surely you can boot from USB too, if you can write correctly.

Durch Zufall bin ich auf diesen Beitrag gestoßen...

 

Ich habe nach kurzer Zeit erfolgreich QNAP OS auf einem meiner (eigentlich) ausgedienten Home Server installiert bekommen... Die Chinesischen Texte im Bootloader werde ich mal durch Englisch ersetzen und das Image dann bereitstellen. Muss nur mal schauen, wann ich dazu komme...

 

Anfangs wurde nur 1HDD von 4 erkannt, das habe ich dann über die Konfigurationsdatei ändern können, indem ich den SATA Port jeweils bei den Laufwerken angegenen habe. Den Hardware RAID Controller habe ich ausgebaut und alle HDDs ans MainBoard angeschlossen, da die HDDs nicht erkannt wurden. Ich habe mir vor kurzem ein TS-451 QNAP gekauft, mit nur 2 Cores... Ich weiß nicht, ob da ein Hardware Controller verbaut ist... Aber die alten Server hatte ich wegen des hohen Stromverbrauches ausgemujstert... Mal schauen, wie viel Strom jetzt ohne MegaRAID verbraucht wird...

 

Ich will beim 2. alten Server aber dennoch mal schauen, ob ich den RAID Controller zum laufen bekomme... Und ob es Performanceunterschiede gibt.

 

zwei Fragen bleiben aber noch...

1. Ich habe 16GB RAM in den Servern verbaut, es zeigt mir aber an, dass ich nur 8GB nutzen kann... Kann man das vorher irgendwo definieren?

 

2. Einen Server würde ich bei eBay als FAKE-QNAP verkaufen, natürlich mit der Angabe, dass es ein Selbstbauserver ist, der mit QNAP läuft... Ich verlange ja kein Geld für das OS, nur macht es die Hardware attraktiver... Mit der Ausnahme, dass das Gerät nur VGA hat und wahrscheinlich keine grafische Anwendung drauf läuft und, dass die GPIOs nicht belegt sind und dadurch auch HDD Fehler nicht angezeigt werden können...
