vanst Posted March 29, 2020 #1 Posted March 29, 2020 Hello guys, I am currently running DSM 6.2-23739 Update 2 with Jun's V1.03b loader on the old server HP Proliant ML110 G4. It has been working great, the only issue is that I can't shutdown. When shutdown, the PC instead go and reboot. HP ML110 G4 specs: Quote Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® processor 3040 Onboard NIC: Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5721 The drive extension had been try and place in the 2nd parition of the USB loader but no joy. https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/21663-driver-extension-jun-103b104b-for-dsm622-for-3615xs-3617xs-918/ According to a post in the forum, Wake on LAN should be turn off but I can't find the option in BIOS. I have tried to turn if off via ssh but it doesn't work as well. I try to to use the TP-LINK TG-3468 PCIe Gigabit (RTL8168e) and a different loader ( V1.02b) but issue still persists. Appreciate if you could share a solution. Thanks! Quote

Jun 1.03b loader DSM 6.2.3-25426 Hardware: Lenovo Ideacentre D400 (it is CPU Intel Atom 230 / 1.6 GHz · Chipset Type Intel 945GC Express) --- Same problem: after Shutdown Lenovo did turn off but after few seconds it turns on! There is no USB peripherials (no mouse or keyboard) I even try to pull out LAN cable after Shutdown command to be sure that it did not turn on because of WakeOnLan In BIOS I set: "Turn off" on "Power failure" I do not see any unusual in "Log centre" but information are sparse - is there any more detailed Logs in Synology? ... IG-88 Posted November 23, 2020 #12 Posted November 23, 2020 imho its related how the kernel is compiled and thats nothing we can change (its optimized for synologys own hardware) you can try to some apm/acpi kernel settings in grub.cfg http://redsymbol.net/linux-kernel-boot-parameters/3.10/ in theory there is another more exotic way that need some linux skills on you side, its possible to mod the grub.cfg in a way to have a additional entry with a special poweroff kernel and on normal boot the 1st normal grub entry sets the new 4th entry as default and when shutdown restarts the system unwanted the new default 4th entry is started and will set the new default back to 1 (1st entry in grub.cfg) and then starts the poweroff kernel (that is approved to work) that method is "easy" but there is no restart from webgui as it always will do the cycle with entry 1 and 4, the universal way with restart would mean to handle this from the synology shutdown script that is triggered from the webgui, if setting the new default to 4th entry (poweroff kernel) and resetting that to 1st in grub when the 4th entry is used both ways need some tinkering and time, the 2nd is sure to work, the outcome of the kernel parameter is open Quote
zarjesve2 Posted November 25, 2020 #13 Posted November 25, 2020 Thanks for replay. 1) kernel settings - solution How I can set "Kernel parameters" in GRUB.CFG on Synology? I do not see "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT" in GRUB.CFG... ?! (this is how Kernel parameters is set on Ubuntu using grub...) 2) more exotic - solution (one that I will prefere) do you have example of grub.cfg with "4th entry"? (btw I do not care for "no restart from webgui") Quote
