oldfart Posted March 25, 2020 #1 Posted March 25, 2020 We have just had a major power cut, followed by 3 spikes - on - off The Boot USB is no longer seen by the motherboard. I created a new one, it boots, but ... DSM 6.1.4-15217 Update 1 DS3615xs The message onscreen says We've detected that the hard drives of your current DS3615XS had been moved from a previous DS3615XS, and installing a newer DSM is required before continuing Is it safe to click on INSTALL Quote
bearcat Posted March 25, 2020 #2 Posted March 25, 2020 Is that "DSM 6.1.4-15217 Update 1" the one you placed on your new USB? What was your old running config using? Quote
oldfart Posted March 25, 2020 Author #3 Posted March 25, 2020 I used the same img file for the new USB, so same boot OS (yes - did change VID & PID) Quote
bearcat Posted March 26, 2020 #4 Posted March 26, 2020 Did your old running config have any updates installed after first time setup? That could explain the message you got. What bootloader do you use? Quote
