Yoda6 Posted November 12, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 12, 2014 Hi All, I have currently a working installation of Xpenology 5.0-4418 Beta (the Trantor's one) installed on my HP N54L with one single volume of 6To (SHR, 4*2To) I would like to migrate my installation (with no data loss obviously) to a VM using vSphere. Could I do that without backuping all my data and re-create my volume ? Addiotonaly, i would like to use the latest version (so passing to nanoboot), could I do it at the same time ? Thanks for your advice !
Nindustries Posted November 13, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 13, 2014 Yes. You can import your pool in DSM during installation. (= upgrade)
unmesh Posted November 13, 2014 Share #3 Posted November 13, 2014 I was successful doing this using Raw Disk Mapping of my 2-HDD pool to DSM as the guest OS. I use nanoboot but DSM should not know the difference except potentially seeing a different MAC address for the N54L if you had not modified gnoboot to pass along the real MAC address
