(ESXi) pi-control: a workaround to SMART... and more!

Thanks for the instructions. I did something very similar from instructions I found on the internet.

I created the key and registered the key in the appropriate file on the ESXi host and confirmed.

When I try starting the pi-control container this time I get the following generated in the log:

Warning: Permanently added '192.168.0.200' (RSA) to the list of known hosts.

Permission denied (publickey,keyboard-interactive).

If the key I created was properly registered on the ESXi host I should be able to SSH to the ESXi host from the Xpenology DSM teminal without the password but I always get the password prompt.

I found this article which seems to indicate that I might need to make some more changes to the ESXi host

I think you're very close.

Personally, I just had to create/edit this file in ESXI shell (connect with ssh as root):

/etc/ssh/keys-root/authorized_keys

and append my public key to it.

I can't remember of additional ESXi settings necessary. Might help in your case.
