GAPP Posted October 31, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 31, 2014 So I just bought a HP ProLiant MicroServer and booted up the NanoBoot 4528, which seemed to install fine. When it stops, it promts me for login details. I have searched all over for login and passwords. I have tried all the standard logins; admin, root, blank , administrator. With passwords from; password, admin, root, default, "blank" Can anyone help?
CtrlAltDel Posted November 1, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 1, 2014 The user name is admin and you define the pw when you do the installation using the synology assistant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGIVzn4UdkE See 1:
GAPP Posted November 1, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted November 1, 2014 I'm not getting to the Synology Assistant. I think that I might not get the Nanobooter loaded completely. It says in the end: "Execution Error" DiskStation login: _
igorek24 Posted November 1, 2014 Share #4 Posted November 1, 2014 It doesn't have a default password. You need to set it up. Go to http://find.synology.com/, it will find you XPEnology and just follow the wizard. If you already setitup, shut it down, remove all the drive (ONLY IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY DATA ON YOU DRIVE) and start it, then go to http://find.synology.com/. GAPP Posted November 1, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted November 1, 2014 One thing.. If I remove the USB stick and reboot, nanoboot won't startup, it will just stand there blinking on a empty page with this symbol: _ Do I leave the USB stick in always, or how do I handle this? shteve Posted November 1, 2014 Share #7 Posted November 1, 2014 Leave the USB stick in the internal USB slot.
CtrlAltDel Posted November 1, 2014 Share #8 Posted November 1, 2014 Once the system has booted you can eject or remove the USB stick as it's not required post boot. You can leave it plugged into the internal USB port and then use the eject option in the top right of the DSM panel. Ejecting it will prevent anything getting written or deleted on the stick by mistake. Removing it physically isn't the best option if you need to reboot the server - which you will at some point. GAPP Posted November 2, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted November 2, 2014 It's not possible to install it directly to the harddrive? Maybe through the custom bios build?
