thibsie Posted October 30, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2014 Hi, First, I'd like to thank everybody here. I've been lurking for quite a time, gathering info and I'm really pleased with xpenology. Thank you !! Second, I'd like to lower my wattage which is around 70W doing nothing. System is as follow: Asus P5QPro Antec 380W (80+) PSU Core2 Duoi e7500 downclocked and undervolted 4 RAM Sicks for 6GB 3 HD (one 1K rpm, one 7.2K and one 5.4K) GF 7300LE GPU An Intel NIC PCIE I use Esxi. Would a bare metal install lower my wattage ? I'd still like to Esxi (though the SMART issue bothers me) so I can use spare power for running other VMs..
