Werter Posted October 18, 2014 #1 Posted October 18, 2014 I have a problem with my nas that it loses the connection to the nas on the network. I pull the network cabel and plug it in again and it works butt its annoying and want to know what the problem is. dsm 5.0 -4493 . Nanoboot - 5.0.3.1
spiderben25 Posted October 19, 2014 #2 Posted October 19, 2014 I have the same problem. Every few weeks, it looses the connection (when connecting using SSH I get Host is unreachable), and as soon as I plug out then in the Ethernet cable it starts working again immediately. Using latest DSM 5.0 4493u7, Nanoboot, HP N54L. Might be something with the DHCP server ? In DSM IP address is set to automatically and in my router the MAC address of the NAS defines a static IP.
Werter Posted October 19, 2014 Author #3 Posted October 19, 2014 Okey. have you found anything that might help? sett the ip address to static maby?
apejovic Posted October 19, 2014 #4 Posted October 19, 2014 Set to Static IP in DSM. Have a look in your Router Config. Maybe you've got a kind of "energy save mode" for the LAN connection? I've had once the same problem with a set-top-box for satellite tv. Produced from the "energy save mode" from the router.

For every other device of your network bind an IP on router. In this way you avoid your router to assign an IP witch may be in conflict with DSM.
