jagwaugh Posted October 12, 2014 #1 Posted October 12, 2014 During the synology install process the root password is set to a value based on todays date. If your install bombs out and gives you the "Telnet enabled, call support" message, you are left in a situation where the system is running, but you don't know theroot password. To calculate the password for today, goto http://codepad.org/naljB5Ze, >>"create a new paste based on this one">>"Submit". Todays root password is in the Output section at the bottom. Andrew
Kevlarski Posted June 16, 2015 #3 Posted June 16, 2015 Looks like 5.2 sets the root password the same as admin. In 5.1 I couldn't get logged in as root but 5.2 accepted the admin password for root.
