_GreaT_ Posted October 4, 2014 #1 Posted October 4, 2014 Hi, I've experiencing the flashing cursor on the left upper side of the screen while trying to boot the nanoboot. I've written the img file with the w32disk imager. Later i tried the RMprepUSB method, this method prints GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB on the screen. Thanks,
jagwaugh Posted October 4, 2014 #2 Posted October 4, 2014 Try a different usb stick. It may just be a bad stick, Or try burning the .iso to a CD. I boot my bare metal machine from CD, works fine.
_GreaT_ Posted October 4, 2014 Author #3 Posted October 4, 2014 Hello, The USB stick is good. I've tried 5 different USB drives with the same result. I successfully booted the xubuntu from the same usb stick. I think the problem is with the nanoboot and the HP bios. Maybe the BIOS thinks the boot is FDD not a HDD.
jagwaugh Posted October 4, 2014 #4 Posted October 4, 2014 Have a look at: http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-P ... DAteNFxntQ Are you using the latest BIOS, and have you got "Data Execution Prevention" OFF ?
_GreaT_ Posted October 4, 2014 Author #5 Posted October 4, 2014 I've flashed the latest Bios and the "Data Execution Prevention" is disabled too.
