Realtek vs Intel NIC, does it matter?

Does the chipset even matters at all, considering that synology using lot's of board with realtek nic themself even on high/server tier grade box, please I'm not looking for an argument, I am just curious.

My current box is using an acer board B75 chipset and it has intel 82579v and 6 sata ports, which is nice, I want to build another backup nas with older biostar h67 chipset but it's using realtek, it also had 6 sata ports.

I have done several builds based on Realtek network chips and haven't run into any issues so far.
If you have the hardware go with a spare disk and test it beforehand.
