Rorschach Posted September 17, 2014 Author #2 Posted September 17, 2014 I just thought, I start a Hardware Compatibility List, that people can contribute and share there experiences with Hardware Compatibility on XPenology. If you have a different Hardware, please insert it in this Thread. I will add it into the first post of this Thread.
Rorschach Posted September 20, 2014 Author #3 Posted September 20, 2014 200 Views and no adds??? Common Guys, share you're experiences!!!
nandesco Posted September 20, 2014 #4 Posted September 20, 2014 I have a system with core i3 3240 with 8gb memory on motherboard asus h61m-a socket lga 1155.I have instaled nanoboot 5.3.0.1 and synology 5.0 4493 update 5.Everything works flawlessly. The system recognizes also my UPS by APC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rorschach Posted September 20, 2014 Author #5 Posted September 20, 2014 Mainboard added to compatibility list. Do you have this UPS? http://www.notebooksbilliger.de/apc+bac ... wwodLR4AXA
nandesco Posted September 20, 2014 #6 Posted September 20, 2014 Bingo!Exactly! Good boy! I have 3 Hdd 2 in SHR in volume 1 and a RED WD on volume 2
Rorschach Posted September 21, 2014 Author #7 Posted September 21, 2014 Okay, that are many informations =). I think near every HDD should work. Most important information should be Mainboard, Addon cards (RAID Cards, Adapter, and all this stuff which need aditional drivers) =) Also I have added your UPS
enzym Posted September 21, 2014 #8 Posted September 21, 2014 Intel DQ77KB works perfectly (my impression as dummy) under ESXI / Nanoboot 5032. It has g2 LAN Ports, to use both you have to inject a driver for the Intel 82579LM in the Image before istalling. In IDLE under ESXI with 16GB Ram + 3,5" HD + 2,5" HD it needs just ~23W.
jagwaugh Posted September 21, 2014 #9 Posted September 21, 2014 GeForce6100PM-M2 AMD CPU 4 G Ram (noname) 4x 4Tb (WD Red) Works fine
buck_danny Posted September 21, 2014 #10 Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) Bare Metal : Mainboard Gigabyte C1037UN-EU, 8 gb ram, 2X Toshiba DT01ACA200, 1 X Seagate ST980813ASG, works fine with Nanoboot 5.0.3.1 DSM 5.0-4493 update 5 and with synoBoot XPEnology DS3612xs DSM 4.3 build 3810++ (repack v1.0) update 4 Edited September 21, 2014 by Guest
Rorschach Posted September 21, 2014 Author #11 Posted September 21, 2014 All Mainboards added. Thx for contribution. @jagwaugh you have Baremetal or Virtual Solution (ESXi, Hyper-V). Do you use Nanoboot, Gnoboot, Synoboot?
jagwaugh Posted September 22, 2014 #12 Posted September 22, 2014 Sorry, should have given more detail. Baremetal, Nanoboot latest, booting from cd burn with latest .iso. I am just trying to crosscompile a few things, I'd like to be able to use the CD, at least from the terminal. It is not bad for fairly aged hardware, CPU &Mem go to the wall with virtualbox, but it worked, had a high cpu usage with ffmpeg under serviio, changed the dlna profile for my tv and that got a LOT better. kbonnel Posted September 22, 2014 #13 Posted September 22, 2014 (edited) Hardware: Lenovo ThinkServer TS140 70A4000HUX i3-4130 3.4GHz Server with 4GB ECC memory. PCI-E: Intel EXPI9301CTBLK installed in 1x slot USB: ADATA Superior Series S102 PRO 32 GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive AS102P-32G-RGY I installed Nanoboot 5.0.3.2 with DSM 5.0-4493 X64 then installed Update 5. I am using the built-in i217 NIC and the Intel EXPI9301CTBLK in a BOND setup. Installed without any issue, using 3 x 4TB WD Red drives. NOTE: I got a private message from unmesh asking if I am using UEFI boot vs legacy and power usage. I can't seem to reply to private messages. In any case, I will double check later today/tomorrow, and update. 9/25/14 NOTE: I checked my TS140, and it is set to be AUTO in terms of BIOS mode. It will use UEFI or Legacy depending on O.S. installed, at least that is how I read the BIOS settings. I am not sure which one xpenology uses. As for the power usage, initial power on with 3 4TB WD Red drives hits about 70watts, and when everything is running, it idles at around 30 - 35 watts. While doing a parity check of volume, the system fluctuates from 37 - 45 watts. Edited September 26, 2014 by Guest
rogerand Posted September 22, 2014 #14 Posted September 22, 2014 Intel DN2800MT, ATOM D2800, 4GB, works fine with synoBoot and XPEnology DS3612xs DSM 5.0 beta but Gigabyte GA-J1900N-D3V does not work as not able to boot without Screen and without Keyboard.

porthos Posted October 1, 2014 #20 Posted October 1, 2014 HP N54L works perfectly Also for UPS - CyberPower Value 600E is detected fine and shuts down the NAS when on battery power after the time set. I'd assume that most of the CyberPower range would work.
