anthonyuk Posted August 26, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 26, 2014 http://www.synology.com/en-global/relea ... l/DS3612xs Fixed Issues Upgraded OpenSSL to Version 1.0.1i to fix multiple security issues (CVE-2014-0224, CVE-2014-0221, CVE-2014-0195, CVE-2014-0198, CVE-2010-5298, and CVE-2014-3470). Implemented fixes for Kerberos 5 to address multiple security issues that allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CVE-2012-1013, CVE-2014-4341, CVE-2014-4342, CVE-2014-4344). Fixed an issue where files with ACL attributes could become inaccessible after being loaded in large batches when DiskStation acts as an NFS server. Fixed an issue where the restore might not be successful when containing multiple subfolders in Time Backup. Fixed an issue where DHCP server service does not map to the correct VLAN interface if the service started before VLAN is enabled. Update 4 is out. Is it safe to install? manfriday Posted August 26, 2014 Share #5 Posted August 26, 2014 Unusual update 4 outcome. Logged into DSM and noticed update available. Without too much thought I started my sandbox DSM_VM and followed what I thought was correct process. D/L update (directly from Syno) and wait... Run script to setup flashupdt proceed with update. Initial Success, then notification msg says all volumes unloaded. I see no volumes.Applied liberal use of profanity Reboot. All volumes back but packages missing, data missing and volumes go into build mode. I dare say it was the Syno D/L that cooked me. Had i used bromolow file this would not have happened. Anyone else with this? DSM 5.0 4493 on VM Workstaion 10. 3 RAW mapped HDD.
djf Posted August 26, 2014 Share #6 Posted August 26, 2014 Kudos, +1, love and devotion (take your pick) to fma965 for the installation / update guide. Brilliant work fella! All appeared to go as per previous updates until the reboot when my N54L was invisible on the LAN afterwards and there was no login prompt displayed on the server (I'm running a "headed" config). I did the usual engineering stuff of swearing at it , followed by a power cycle and all appears well now
MarsManden Posted August 26, 2014 Share #7 Posted August 26, 2014 After upgrade to Update 4 my 2 VMs and N54L-bare-metal all came up with another MAC address and thereby getting another IP-address from my DHCP-server. A second reboot solved it. Back to the old MAC address and thus the right IP-address.
