Hello,

This is my system:

Intel Pentium G3420 Boxed

MSI H97M-G43

3x Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 ST3000DM001, 3TB

Cooler Master N400 KKN1

Crucial Ballistix BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00CEUv 2x4GB

Seasonic G-Serie 360Watt

Crucial M550 M.2 128GB

Mine problem is my NAs gets into hibernate but every 10 minutes is goes off hibernate. I also have this with al the packages diabled, so its not sickbeard of plex whats running on the back. I have a small log and it saids this:

As you can see the problem looks for me this:

write to uart2 error, error=(5)Input/output error

I dont know what it is, maybe someone here knows what to do?

If there are more logs needed tell me which one and i will post it.

I believe it's to do with the USB still being mounted, have a look at this thread viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6&start=340

Try unmounting the USB stick or removing it after booting & then check the logs to see if you're still getting the same error or not.

Thnx for the topic, i will try and see if anything happens.

Well the hibernate issues without the usb didn`t solve.

I did run the hibernate debug tool on the background with Putty open. When the NAS is waking up i get this:

I am using gnoboot 5.0-4458 update 2, i don't need to umount the USB drive, hibernate works fine, my USB drive is always mounted

only the case it don't work i have experienced, if i leave the DSM admin page open on the browser, it will affect the NAS do not go to hibernate

Hi!

I see the same "write to uart2 error, error=(5)Input/output error" in my log files too. Did you manage to find what is the problem?

Not yet...

Hmm thats not the problem i got then. My drives get in hibernation, but i think once in an hour it get out of hibernate itself....

I tried a clean install on DSM 5 with last update. I have the same problem as you, the hhds go to hibernation but they wake up after some time. I have not any package installed, so it has nothing to do with some application trying to access the disks. The only service I have enabled is the DDNS. What bios do you have? I have the latest of HP, not the modded one. Do you think this is the problem?

I dont have a HP system, i have a homebuild system wit an Pentium en MSI motherboard. i have no idee what the problem is.

I have also a homebuilt system and it never goes to sleep. My Synology Disk Station DS213j goes to sleep. If I start a PC it wakes up and I guess that somehow it monitors LAN traffic, any LAN traffic. The only thing I can think of is that the NIC is set to detect traffic and wakes the disk station.

Does anybody know how it works? Is there a way to find out what NIC is used in the disk station?
