wallstreet Posted August 15, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 15, 2014 I have a setup as follows: Intel Celeron G530 2.4GHz (32nm Sandy Bridge) Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 motherboard 1 x 4GB DDR3 DRAM 3 x Seagate 3TB in SHR volume 1 x Seagate 2TB in single drive volume Corsair CS450M 80+ Gold PSU The system is running Nanoboot 5.0.2.1 / DSM 5.0-4482 and runs great! My only issue is power consumption. At idle it is about 60 watts. Prior to XPEnology I had a similar FreeNAS setup which was 35W at idle. I have added a couple drives in the XPEnology setup, but I think there is ~15W wasted. My guess is that CPU power saving is not enabled, and the CPU is running at full speed (and full voltage) even when idle. Is there a way I can check this? I am familiar with Linux but not familiar with packages. Do I need to install or setup some package to enable CPU power saving? I assume there is something to check/enable for ACPI power states. Thanks in advance!
