kunalraiker Posted August 11, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 11, 2014 Hi All, I'am looking to build an Xpenology NAS with the linked hardware. Someone recommended I should go for the ESXi version, I'am not sure I just need something that's easy to build and maintain. Appreciate your help, please do send me details and links of what I need to do. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/kunalra ... ved/8BmmP6

tankage Posted August 11, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 11, 2014 I just use this guy's $500 build and it works pretty good for me http://www.toptengamer.com/build-gaming-pc/
Schnapps Posted August 11, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 11, 2014 use my setup from my signature for a cheap, low power consumption and powerful nas.
kunalraiker Posted August 15, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted August 15, 2014 I answered someone that had similar question, so check this post: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3608#p21719 Thanks, I build it today usinging the guide you linked. Just one question my CPU is showing i3 even though its i5, also although I have wireless nic, when I try to set it up it asks me for wireless adapters. Dfds Posted August 15, 2014 Share #6 Posted August 15, 2014 The CPU shown is a cosmetic bug, don't worry about it. As for the wireless adaptor it's very unlikely that the drivers have been included in the boot image. If you really want to use it you can search the forum for advice on adding them & recompiling the kernel, this does however require a degree of Linux knowledge. I think I can survive without the wireless given I can bond my both nics which is a great feature.
