Schmill Posted December 1, 2014 Share #52 Posted December 1, 2014 Re-installed virtualbox and the problem is gone... strange! As an aside, does anyone know VirtualBox doesn't show up in the "Main Menu" in DSM? It looks like the config file says it should, but I get no icon, I have to go to package manager and click the link, or else just go to the url directly. Not a major issue, I just wondered why the icon wasn't showing in the "Main Menu"? Thanks

Thanks for me from logs you posted before it looked like problem with access rights then i asked about reinstall virtualbox. about icon, strange, icon could be in menu as usual Login with an admin user, and grant this user the right to VirtualBox ( Control-Panel -> Privilege ) Excellent thanks Well I logged in as my admin user "MyAdmin" and "Control Panel --> Privileges" did not list phpVirtualBox. I then re-activated the default Admin account, and then logged in with that, and "Control Panel --> Privileges" now DID list phpVirtualBox. I then added this to the "MyAdmin" account, logged out/in again, and "MyAdmin" now has the icon in the Main Menu So... is there any way that these privileges can be assigned at GROUP level, rather than USER level? I'd like to give all the "Administrators" group have privilege for this app, but I can't see anyway to do that? Thanks again

Also since there is no xpenology 5.1 I cant support vbox on 5.1. That being said error message you have seam to be happening because of vbox crashing. Clue to reason why you could find in vbox log at /var/log/vbox.log (i think that is the location). andyd358 Posted January 17, 2015 Share #59 Posted January 17, 2015 Hi Seba I have the same problem. I've installed DSM .1 on a spare server (DL120 G6) and the DSM is working great. I installed your package and it installs no problem. Create a VM no problem but when I run it I get the same problem as above. I understand that you do no support DSM 5.1 but do you have plans to do so in the future. (hope so you have already saved me on my electric bill ). I have DSM 5.0 running on a HP NL40 and your package works perfect on that. I have two vms running one is an Elastix PBX and the other is a Win 7 for y CCTV using iCatcher. I would love to upgrade my NL40 to DSM 5.1 but the only thing stopping me is I've become reliant on your package lol. Thanks for the work you have done so far. seba Posted January 25, 2015 Author Share #66 Posted January 25, 2015 @Adrirand You have corrupted configuration file. You need to delete /root/.config/VirtualBox/VirtualBox.xml so new one will get recreated. After that you will have to import VMs.
