singhsnet Posted August 19, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 19, 2019 (edited) I am trying to upgrade from a Gigabyte motherboard with B75M chipset. it has Reltek GbE lan. I see that 6.2.1+ needs intel nic. How do I add realtek driver with this? I am using 1.03b loader when I uncomment the extra.lzma section, it gives me error that file '/rd/gz' not found. it also seems that it can not locate $img/$extra_initrd I tried searching all over but not sure why the 2nd partition content is not read. any pointers? merve04 Posted August 22, 2019 Share #2 Posted August 22, 2019 Get an intel nic card, it’s cheap and will go a long way for the next several releases of DSM. My gigabyte mobo has the same Realtek 8111, i just dropped a $30 intel gig nic pci-e 1x. Works great.

singhsnet Posted August 27, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted August 27, 2019 Thanks, I will try that. already ordered Intel nic, so may not be able to continue with testing (tedious).

singhsnet Posted August 27, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted August 27, 2019 another question I had, how to use extra.lzma its not loading in my case when I uncomment the section in grub file. it says file /rd.gz not found. do you know how to do that? if I try to move this file to first partition, it is not big enough.
