kuehne.robs Posted July 3, 2014 Share #1 Posted July 3, 2014 Hello, i have 2 onboard nics wich are connected and a dual port NIC wich is not connected at the moment. Is it possible to just shutdown the dsm and replace the dual port through an quad Port NIC or do i have to reinstall xpenology? thanks
XPEH Posted July 3, 2014 Share #2 Posted July 3, 2014 IF NIC is compatible, replacement should work without reinstalling. IP configuration may need to be done again.
mervincm Posted July 3, 2014 Share #3 Posted July 3, 2014 Assuming the quad port uses a supported driver, it's as easy as turning it off and swapping the card. access the box via the int NICS, and configure the four new ones. It's as easy as you could hope for.
stanza Posted July 5, 2014 Share #4 Posted July 5, 2014 Depends which version xpenology your using You might have to set the MAC address's of the new cards ports if your using trantors version. Easy enough done tho .
