Late to the party - DSM 5.0 top 6.2

Hi ,

 

I have a HP N54L which is still running DSM5.0 and I want to upgrade to the latest 6.2

 

I know that I have to do this a few smaller steps, 5.0>5.1>5.2>6.0>6.2.

 

But... As I am so late in doing this, all the link which explain how to do 5.0>5.2 have expired and do not have current download links.  Can anyone please help with current instructions and links so I can go to the latest DSM.

Which box are you emulating on DSM 5.0? You'll probably need to change your bootloader if you're using the legacy xpenology one.

 

Pretty sure there are downloads on the synology website to the latest software

im

using the HP 54L microserver. And have used nanoboot boot loader. 

 

Mill use your link and proceed from there, the biggest problem was that because it’s all legacy now it’s hard to find active links and tutorials.

Oh and I have tried to use offical software from Synology but can’t. It doesn’t accept the pat files as the n54L is not legit.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

 

First I would suggest a read of the FAQs. This will provide some updates on how the new loaders works and in general will provide some general background. Please also check the DSM Updated Reporting section.

 

Note that up until DSM 6.2 you should be fine with a bit of tweaking (disable C1E in Bios). Starting DSM 6.2.2 you will need another NIC (intel preferably) as the one in your N54L will not work.
