umoraes Posted June 20, 2014 Share #1 Posted June 20, 2014 Hi, I'm looking for a 4 port SATA III Board PCIe low profile for my mini itx motherboard. Can some tell me what chipsets are supported by nanoboot or gnoboot on XPENology build 5.0 ? I found this board at a good price... IO Crest SATA III 4 Port PCI-e 2.0 x1 Card with Low Profile Bracket (SI-PEX40064) Thanks!!! Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
Schnapps Posted June 21, 2014 Share #2 Posted June 21, 2014 I had been using an Gigabyte E-350 + CPU "Zacate" and worked like a charm. Now I changed it to an ASRock Q1900-ITX for lower power usage and better performance as I wanted to use it with ESXi but ESXi cannot be installed on that MB. I definitively recommend for a native hardware XPeno box the Q1900-ITX. Remember that a NAS should be as power efficient as possible but without affecting performance. The Q1900-ITX is using the Intel J1900 chipset with a quad-core Celeron clocked at 2GHz and with an amazing 10W TDP! jbugman Posted June 21, 2014 Share #3 Posted June 21, 2014 Has the USB been fixed with the j1900 boards yet & do they support the on/off? Ta J

Schnapps Posted July 6, 2014 Share #5 Posted July 6, 2014 Apparently with the newest DSM and nanoboot everything works fine on bare metal! ESX 5.1, 5.5 and 6.0beta are not even installing. Bummer! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
