Tuxx Posted July 7, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2019 (edited) - Outcome of the update: FAILED - DSM version prior to update: uncertain...~DSM 6.1 - Upgrading to DSM 6.2.2-24922 - Loader version and model: Jun v1.04b - DS918 - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: Baremetal on Asrock Q1900DC-ITX with built in Realtek RTL8111GR I upgraded DSM in the GUI, and afterwards the xpenology box is not coming back online. It looks like it runs through the bootloader just fine. But it never seems to pull an IP address and get back online. I checked from the router device listing, and the xpenology box is not pulling an IP. The xpenology box has a static IP. I tried to SSH that the network connection seems to be down as well. What did I do wrong? Any words of wisdom? Would installing an Intel NIC solve the problem? Edited July 7, 2019 by Tuxx
manfriday Posted July 7, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 7, 2019 "built in Realtek RTL8111GR" - this is at least one of your problems, it may be the only one. have you read any other posts on this update? there are many.
bearcat Posted July 7, 2019 Share #3 Posted July 7, 2019 @Tuxx You should have read the update-reports, as then you would have found out that the internal nic is not supported with the latest update. If you add a supported Intel (or other) nic, you will be back online
Tuxx Posted July 7, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted July 7, 2019 (edited) It’s all good, I appreciate everything the community does. NIC is an easy fix if that’s all it is. Part is already in the mail. Will report back when I confirm it’s working. I ordered the Intel EXPI9301CT. Based on everything I read it seems compatible / recommended. dimis7 Posted May 6, 2020 Share #7 Posted May 6, 2020 (edited) Hi to all, AsRock Q2900-ITX motherboard here (slightly different from Q1900). With 6.2.1 DSM + Jun v1.04b - DS918 (UEFI Mode) + Real MAC & S/N everything was fine, including video hw transcoding. With 6.2.2 DSM System is not booting anymore. With 6.2.2 DSM + Jun v1.04b - DS918 (UEFI Mode) + IG-88 extra.lzma (here) is working but only with recovery package. Software transcoding also not working. CPU usage is very low and I get black screen on video station. Any solution to fix it? Thanks Edited May 6, 2020 by dimis7

Now I’m moving on again to unraid.
