TheLegendOfMart Posted June 12, 2014 Share #76 Posted June 12, 2014 How do I upgrade from Gnoboot 4458 u2 to Nanoboot 4493? I'm scared about losing everything.
martva Posted June 12, 2014 Share #77 Posted June 12, 2014 I don't mind you available for download, but please Indicate the source http://nanoboot.tk Hi sancome, Thanks so much for all the work you put into this. Very much appreciated! But I do have one question. As a noob on this subject, is it save to build a new bootable USB drive of the new nanoboot 5.0.3.1 and replace the old usb drive with version 5.0.2.4? In other words. Will it still boot the installation of DSM5-4482? And then update the installation.

phoenix73 Posted June 15, 2014 Share #84 Posted June 15, 2014 Does it means I should add Mac adress in syslinux.cfg to avoid some apps to crash ? I installed 4493 on a new disk (removed old ones) and I didn't had to inject Mac adress Why Mac adress is needed/used in Linux boot process ? DJBenson Posted June 16, 2014 Share #88 Posted June 16, 2014 Upgraded to 4493 from last Trantor build and everything seemed to go fine apart from MariaDB not working (found the fix for that) and I can't enable WebStation, I get an error (every time) suggesting I log out of DSM and try again. mervincm Posted June 21, 2014 Share #93 Posted June 21, 2014 using latest nanoboot, and DSM 4493U1. This is what I did to create a unique serial number, and according to the Synology assistant, it seeams to have worked. I can't seem to find the syslinux.cfg file in USB key. can you elaborate please? Open folder boot/grub. You can change serial/mac in the ‘menu_nano.lst’ and ‘menu_install.lst’ files. thanks to you both. very easily done. just wondering is there a specific format for the serial no? or can it be any string of letters numbers? e.g. just the actual HP serial no. of my n54l?
