Schnapps Posted May 17, 2014 Share #178 Posted May 17, 2014 A few things I noticed since changing from GnoBoot to NanoBoot. If anyone has some fixes I am willing to test. 1. Synology Assistant - Reporting : Status as not configured. <--- anyone know how to fix this its annoying the system is working 100% except that message 2. System will not reboot. 3. Home/s folder is inaccessible since migration. 4. System performance seems a bit on the slow side, but maybe its just me. NOTE: startup is fast the webui is slow. 5. On NanoBoot startup there is a message : not a synology partition or something like that will confirm. 6. System Randomly Crashes / Becomes inaccessible. Forced reboot required. Apparently we share the same issues. What hardware do you have? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

pablop Posted May 17, 2014 Share #181 Posted May 17, 2014 Hi, as I see many of You has a problem with shared folders when switching from gnoboot to nanoboot. There was the same problem on my system. But Ive updated DSM to update2 (what is possible in nanoboot by install/upgrade option) and system comes back to normal state. So I think there is a need to reinstall system. In my case thre was no data loss at all. But I have another problem with nanoboot. I want to have headless machine, system is installed directly on PC, but when I remove my graphic card nanoboot cant boot at all, I don`t see the where is a problem. Is there any option to boot up corectly without graphic card ? With gnoboot I don`t have such a problems. But I prefer nanoboot because of working DVB-T. LittleLama Posted May 17, 2014 Share #183 Posted May 17, 2014 Can we use any other PAT file or must be DSM_DS3612xs_4482.pat? Possible to use DSM from other hardware, like DS412+ (DSM_DS412+_4482.pat) or DS413 (DSM_DS413_4482.pat) ? Thank you, Alex_G Why? why would you even want to? Same question. I really need to bootstrap my syno, but special package doesn't exist for 3612xs. It would be a solution to install another syno supported model.
