how to drive LCD 16X2 HD44780

I want use a LCD [hd44780] for dsm , I find ds110g has lcd4linux.ipkg but not for x86,

then i to do debian chroot ,but can't use, Who will fix the problem lcd4linux??

i think it' simple, download source and compile for x86 system.
