hello guys,

this is my first post here, and hope you guys could help me.

i'm running the latest dsm 5.0 with gnoboot's latest alpha, on a biostar amd e350 based fusion board setup.

everything works fine, except gigabit ethernet. the ethernet speed is 100mbps and not gigabit/1000mbps.

The motherboard onboard lan is rtl8111f ethernet.

dmesg | grep 'Ethernet driver'

i think the newer r8169 driver supports Gigabit ethernet on the RTL8111F chip, but i do not know how to load r8169 instead of r8168.

any suggestions would be much appreciated

Thanks

I have nearly the same problem:

Supported ports: [ TP ]

Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full

100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full

1000baseT/Half 1000baseT/Full

Supports auto-negotiation: Yes

Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full

100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full

1000baseT/Half 1000baseT/Full

Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes

Speed: Unknown! (65535)

Duplex: Unknown! (255)

Port: Twisted Pair

PHYAD: 1

Transceiver: internal

Auto-negotiation: on

Supports Wake-on: g

Wake-on: g

Current message level: 0x000000ff (255)

Link detected: no

However I do not understand why it says (unknown) by both speed and duplex

If your having troubles getting gigabit working.... Try a different cable.

9 times out of ten... Auto detect will down negotiate to 100m if it detects a problem.

.

Thats exactly what happened... Changed cables yesterday and it got resolved  forgot to update here...
