Hi has anyone update with no loss of data / functionality etc. I have a N54L

Iv'e searched the forums and the upgrade route seems to be normally from 4.3

Has anyone done the above from 5.0 Beta, ? any guide or anything to be aware of ?

I know I'm asking a lot but any feeback would be awesome :smile:

Hi Scoobdriver,

I have successfully migrated from Trantor DSM 5-4418 Beta to Gnoboot DSM5 update 2.

I was urged to do this because of the Heartbleed vulnerability.

I followed this guide to upgrade to Gnoboot DSM5 10.5, then applied updated 2 to bring me up to the latest version.

I would like to know if gnoboot works for the mediasmart servers. as of now i know it does not work on all the laptops ive tried so far.

Why don't try it out yourself?

XPEnology won't harm your data before you perform install action. Simply try if your device will boot up with gnoboot and whether it is reachable from lan.

Hi Scoobdriver,

No, I did not lose any data at all.

I also have Sickbeard, Sabnzb, Plex installed and they continued to work after the upgrade with no mishaps.

When I launched Synology Assistant, it came up with a status of "Migratable"

I've also migrated from 4.3 to 5.0 but noticed a few issues:

My shares lost their rights / not visibile in file browser

IP config is lost

SAB/Couch etc. still work

I can't get the ODD drive to work (raid failure at this moment)

I;ve edited the config files :

type “vi /etc/synoinfo.conf” press “I” then type the lines below.

esataportcfg=0x30
internalportcfg=0xf
usbportcfg=0x1FC0

But where do I put the new lines? at the top?
