I recently installed DSM 6.2 on my old HP Mediasmart EX495 server and am starting to explore how to use it's features. To get started I installed 2 hard drives using Synology SHR mode. I have another hard disk that I used to copy audio and video files from the EX495 when it was running the WHS software. I would like to copy those files into the Synology file system. I could attach the drive to the USB2 port of the EX495 but the transfer would be incredibly slow. What I would like to know is whether I can install the NFS hard drive into one of the open bays of the server and then perform the copy directly within the server?
