0 Silvershark Posted April 12, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 12, 2019 Still shows as raid 1. The disk size is right for raid 1.
0 manfriday Posted April 12, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 12, 2019 What am I missing? This is RAID 5 array with 4x8TB drives. you lose 1 drive worth for protection and the overhead of formats, file system and other guff. You will have roughly 21+TB to play with? 0 jensmander Posted April 13, 2019 Share #4 Posted April 13, 2019 Did you unmount the SSD Cache before you added the new hdd?

At this point I sucked it up, dismantled my box and tossed all my drives in a real NAS. Got a 5x8tb array running properly now.
0 jensmander Posted April 14, 2019 Share #9 Posted April 14, 2019 I had a similar setup in a bare-metal system. Before I could expand the storage pool the SSD cache had to be removed. Otherwise DSM threw up an error.
