BlackHawk1942 Posted April 4, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 4, 2014 (edited) Hi, I am currently installing a new system on custom hardware using gnoboot 10.4 alpha. The model I can see in the Synology Assistant is the RS3411RPxs. Can I change that? Does this take any effect - maybe on s/n? Thanks for all effort! gnoboot Posted April 5, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 5, 2014 Please expound custom hardware. What you're getting is the default hardware model if something weird happens.
fonix232 Posted April 5, 2014 Share #3 Posted April 5, 2014 That model is weird, by default it is a DS3612xs... The serial number should not have any effect on it, as there's a separate zImage parameter (model=modelname) for that.
BlackHawk1942 Posted April 5, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted April 5, 2014 Yeah, I've got the DS3612xs from the alpha. I was using the gnoboot.me and there I've got the strange model number.

There is the modelname set.
