I am trying to install XPEnology 6.x on my system but i can't make it run.
1. Running XPEnology on bare metal - did not see my Hp p400 array
2. Running on ESX is not an option because can not be install on my board.

Any idea?

Curelntly I am running a Hyper-V with windows and linux VM-s

My system:
Board + CPU: Asrock Q1900M
Ram: 16GB (2 x 8GB, Kingston HyperX Fury Blue,  DDR3 )
Raid Controler :HP Smart Array P400 Controller
Network: Intel PRO/1000 PT Dual Port Server

@usus The HP P400 is a SAS Raid controller if I'm not wrong. how is the drives configured?

You might need to configure them as single drives, preferably AHCI (if possible).

Found something related here

The P400 does not pass unassigned disks to the OS.

You need to create RAID-0 configs to get the disks through to the OS.

Saving the RAID-0 config (or any other P400 config) will empty the disk(s).

I have 3x3TB drives

2 drives in raid 1

1 single drive

For the moment my system is running for ~5 years.

I have done lot of tests in this time.

Now I read about XPEnology and i want to migrate but with minimum of shutdown time.

I will not reconfigure until i do not have a solution.

And sorry for the mistake but is a HP smart array P410 controller

@usus Would that be the HP smart array P410i ?

What is the rest of your HW setup, and what OS are you currently using?

If, and I say IF, you want to try any of the "extras" out, make sure you have a full backup set ;-)

Same thing goes for you current Raid1, assuming it is a HW raid you will not be able to "import" the raidset into DSM.

With XPEnology/DSM, you will be using software raid.

I know. But first to see the disks in DSM  I will not format them on install :)

LOL :) Somehow I read it, but I did not "see it"...

But, I think that for you to be able to see the drives in DSM, you might have to set them up as single drives in Raid-0.

If you have a spare drive, with no needed info on it, you could wipe it, and create a single drive Raid-0 on it, and try to install DSM.

(this is to be done after you have disconnected all your other drives for security reasons).

btw: if  you replace your P410 with a 2 or 4 port "standard" SATA controller, with native support, your problems would be over ;-)

I have a Q1900-ITX running myself, with an added 2port SATA controller in a microPCIe slot, giving me a total of 6 ports.

I was thinking to this but firs i try to use hardware that i have. 4 port sata adapter are not so cheap.(same price like a second hand raid controller)

Can you tel me what model are u using?

I just found

Hope is working.

Unfortunately dose not work. I try extra.lzma for DS918+ v0.2,  v0.3, v0.4, v0.5_test and after startup the link of my network card switch off.
