Connect to XPenology after location changed

Dear all,

 

I am using Xpenology on a small Acer EasyStore H340 since around one year.

Now i just moved to another location, so new home, new IP, and i cannot connect to the server anymore.

Is there any chance i could connect without reinstalling the system?

Yes, cannot connect locally. At the previous location i used a static IP.

Right now my router doesn't even see the server as connected...

If you have a intel LAN card laying around add it to the nas box. REBOOT connected to your router and get a DHCP ip number connect to that ip number and change the ip address on your nas box to the dhcp ip . (Remove the old ip address and update the ip address to the new one. ) You should be back up !

do you remember the ip address at the old home address ? was it a internet address or LAN address ???

 

Do you have a LAN network at home ? How much data you talking about.  If you can back it up do it, and do a reinstall.  Your data should be there

just don't whipe out the drives. What loader are you using ???

Do you remember what IP range you used before the move? 192.168.x.y / 10.a.b.c ?

What IP range / address are you currently getting on your computer now ?

Have you tried using the Synology Assistent?

 

If you remember the old IP range, manually set your computer to be in the same IP range, connect it directly to your NAS

and try the Syno Assistent or go directly to the old static IP of your NAS.

The problem you are experiencing seems to be from a local network configuration issue/hardware:

- Check your routeur and make sure it is properly configured (DHCP) and that you are in the same subnet than your Box. 

- Make sure all cables are connected properly

- Make sure you USB key with loader is properly plugged and all the hardware is functioning properly.

I am pretty sure that these are the only solutions which would help without reinstalling …

i think reinstalling wouldn't work if you can't find your Box through Synology Assistant or find.synology.com...

and if so.. reconfigure it...
