- Outcome of the update:  SUCCESSFUL

- DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2-23739 Update 2 1.03b - ds3617xs

- Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3615xs

- Using custom extra.lzma: NO

- Installation type: BAREMETAL -  Gigabyte GA-970a-ds3p AMD FX-4300

- Additional comments: Original install was using 1.03b ds3617xs tried to update using same loader but would not load at all.  It would hang right after the menu selection screen.  Downgraded to 6.1.7 DS3617xs then migrated to 6.2.1-23824 update 4 DS3615xs and it worked.  Onboard realtek nic no longer works but extra HP NC-360t dual port Intel NIC works fine.  Long story short for anyone else using AMD make sure you are using the DS3615xs loader boot as none of the others work.  I tried DS918+ 1.04b and DS3617xs 1.03b and neither worked using Legacy or UEFI boot.

- Additional comments: easily migrated my 6x4To RAID6 drives from jun's v1.02b DS3615XS to v1.04b DS918+ without hassles, just had to install new Power Button package.

- DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2-23739 Update 2

- Loader version and model: Jun's Loader v1.03b - DS3615xs

- Using custom extra.lzma: NO

- Installation type: BAREMETAL - Asrock J3355m, 8GB RAM

- Additional comments:

  • NIC: Intel Pro1000 CT (EXPI9301CT), works out of the box.
  • SATA Controller: Highpoint Rocket 640L (4x SATA, Marvell 88SE9230). Sata controller needs flash! Without flash raid sets crash and system is not stable.  (same problem on <DSM 6.2) With latest firmware from Digitus the DMESG errors disappear and system is very stable and fast. Digitus firmware for 88SE9230 (use freedos usb stick to flash)
  • I also use SataPortMap=24 in GRUB to make my disks appear as disk 1-6. (onboard first)
  • This is brand new cheap and fast system supporting max 6 disks and using <50W power on load.

  • Onboard LAN
  • No other amendments made
  • QuickConnect service tested and not working (perhaps due to carry over S/N and MAC used from previous DSM 6.0.1 Baremetal installation)

-Outcome of the migration: SUCCESSFUL
-DSM version prior update: N/A

-Loader version and model: Jun's Loader v1.04b - DS918+
-Using custom extra.lzma: NO

- Installation type: BAREMETAL Dell PowerEdge T20 Xeon E3-1225 V3
- Additional comments:  I was running Jun's Loader v1.03b - DS3615xs on my HP Gen8, I decided to upgrade, so I got a Dell PowerEdge T20 server, so I migrated my data and settings from Jun's Loader v1.03b - DS3615xs to DS918+ using 1.04b loader. The on-board NIC works out but I ran into some errors while migrating. I kept getting "Failed to install the file. The file is probably corrupted. (13 )" until I upgraded Dell T20's BIOS, then using UEFI and sata sets to AHCI mode.

  • old hard drive there on DS3617xs with version 6.2-23739 stop the PC. install DS3615xs on usb reboot install version 6.2-23739 for DS3615xs. test whether everything has been saved. update to 6.2.1-23824 update 4 (test data was saved.)
  • Turn off the PC. connect disks with data to start pc install Version 6.2.1-23824 update 4 for the DS3615xs. everything work!
  • UPDATE
  • From af DS3617xs to update 6.2.1-23824 does not work !!!
  • Test it first with a spare drive I recommend.

- Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL
- DSM version prior update: DSM 6.1.7 UPDATE 1
- Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3615xs
- Using custom extra.lzma: NO
- Installation type: HP Elite 8200, integrated NIC Intel 82579LM

- Additional comments:

  • Computer needs to be booted in Legacy BIOS mode for network to work. However HP Elite 8200 UEFI BIOS refuses to boot loader in Legacy mode, only EFI. To solve this issue I converted USB key's partition table from Protected to Hybrid partition table. That helped BIOS to see MBR partitions and boot in Legacy mode.
  • Before upgrade the computer was booted with loader 1.03b. Then DSM 6.2.1 was installed, starting web page find.sysnology.com (as a new install would be made).
