Im running DSM 6.2 DS6317 with juns loader 1.03b which runs fine. I would like to access a serial console on my HP Proliant G8 1620 which doesn't have a native serial port so I have tried using a USB to serial port adaptor to connect to my PC serial connector outlet.
I am using Putty on the PC to try to connect via serial option and is configured for COM1 and the VSP in ILO is set for COM3? will this work
I have enabled use the VSP virtual Serial Port through the HP gen8 ILO interface but not sure if I access this through the IILO port or through the USB with the usb/serial adaptor which doesn't work.
Has any one been able to connect with a serial port with a HP Proliant GEN8, or advise me if I,m missing a step somewhere
