GroupPolicy Posted December 17, 2018 #1 Posted December 17, 2018 Hi Everyone, I wonder, if my xpenology device is stolen. Can they access my data? can they reset the administrator password? how can I take precautions for these situations? Quote
bearcat Posted December 19, 2018 #2 Posted December 19, 2018 Physical access to the server = passwords can/will be broken 💣 Precaution = keep your server safe and lock your doors😏(aka encrypt your data). Quote

bearcat Posted December 20, 2018 #4 Posted December 20, 2018 I don't see why not, as you are still syncing "data", the content should not matter. If you don't encrypt data saved in the cloud, why do you worry about your data if the nas is stolen? Any data "in the cloud" could be stolen / leaked anyways.... If you look here you can see how to enable client-side data encryption for Cloud Sync. Quote

I just don't want my private data to be in the hands of someone else if my nas is stolen. Quote
