[PSA] ESXi 6.7 with Jun's Loader 1.03b for DSM 6.2-23739 Update 2 (or maybe above)

I was lucky enough to find the package that Pigr in the forum posted actually would work fine out of the box with ESXi 6.7.  

 

I'd write up in more details tonight to give a step by step on the installation method.

Pigr8 are referring to 1.02b in his post, and the file posted, unless there is an update I have missed.

kazuni did say  DSM 6.2-23739, so it would has to be 1.03 loader. But there is a  1.03b? where you get that?

6.新增硬碟 設定控制器 SCSI

7.設定BIos傳統模式

just FYI - this guide - the Chinese portion (mostly the .vmdk file ) allowed a perfect migration from 6.1 (1.02b2) to a 6.2 with a LSI passthrough

created the vmdk for the new synoboot.img (renamed synoboot62.img, and synoboot62.vmdk respectivly)
uploaded to datastore
removed old synoboot file HDD from config
switched to bios booting
added new Synboot making sure to use SATA/SATA
Used remote console to boot (VMRC) so I can force into VMWARE/ESXi mode

wizard migrated perfectly

Hi,

 

If you want, you can use my VM template :

This template offer the capability to use one VM DSM 6.2. All you need to do is to add your vmdk 'data' to the scsi controller.

 

Note that if you want to use more than one VM DSM in the same LAN, you need to change the mac adress in the synobook.vmdk locate in grub.conf.

MTU Size has not working in the 6.1 Version.

The new 6.2 Tempalte is workling! NICE! Also direct update to latest 6.2 is working!

No, only 1.03a which works with latest DSM with intel NICs

i got ds918 dsm6.2 run on a fitlet 2 esxi 6.7  but only when all hdds connectetd to the same sata controller otherwise i got error 35

1.04b loader on ESXi now supports vmxnet3
