Loader version and type: 1.04b DS918+

DSM version in use (including critical update):  DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 4

Using custom modules/ramdisk? If yes which one?:  no

Hardware details: Intel i5-4670, Gigabyte Z87X-UD5H, SATA PCIe card 4 ports (chipset Marvell 88SE9235, Model SI-PEX40062)

NOTE - I have 8 hard drives, I usually use the Intel SATA ports on the motherboard and if the others are not compatible then I disable them in BIOS/UEFI  and use the above PCIe card which is cheap and never had problems with in all my Xpenology builds.

Platform: Supermicro X10-SLL-F

SUCCESSFUL

Comments: I must say, the X10-SLL-F works like OOB with Xpenology. This has taken every loader & 916/918/3615/3617 WITHOUT ANY issue.  This board LOVES Xepenology

Ive been able to add 10GBE t540x2 cards, using 2x sata 6gbs cards with this setup too.

SMOOTH..AS.. BUTTER as if i actually went and bought the Diskstation.

1.04b/6.2/918+ also working flawless on MSI B250m Mortar Pentium G4560 4gb SUCCESSFUL

A Massive thank you to Jun for all the work on the loader. Thank you Polanskiman for everything you do for the community.

Very grateful to be able to have a Nas that i cannot afford. My fam uses every day

Loader version and type (918+/3615xs/3617xs): Jun's Loader v1.03b - DS3615xs

DSM version in use: DSM 6.2.1-23824 update 4

Using custom modules/ramdisk: NO

Hardware details: HP Elite 8200, Intel Core i5, integrated NIC Intel 82579LM

Prerequisites:

Computer needs to be booted in Legacy BIOS mode for network to work. However HP Elite 8200 UEFI BIOS refused to boot loader in Legacy mode, only EFI.

Booting EFI mode makes that network is not working for Jun's Loader 1.03b.

How I solved the boot issue? Loader's USB key partition table has Protected partition table. And looks like HP's UEFI BIOS for mentioned model has issues booting in Legacy mode in that situation.

I converted USB key's partition table to Hybrid partition table. That helped BIOS to see MBR partitions and boot in Legacy mode.

For conversion I used 'gdisk' tool in linux/macOS. I selected all three USB key's partitions to be part of MBR partition table, whereas I flagged first (EFI) partition as bootable for Legacy boot to work correctly.

To make Legacy boot mandatory I could disable all UEFI boot options in BIOS. However I rather renamed EFI folder name on first USB key partition to something else. That way Legacy boot became the only option for that USB key.

Loader version and type (918+):  1.04b DS918+

DSM version in use (including critical update):  DSM 6.2-23739

Using custom modules/ramdisk? If yes which one?:  Yes, driver extension 0.5 for 1.03a2

Hardware details:  Motherboard:  Gigabyte B360M-D3H; CPU: Intel Pentium G5400T; NIC: Intel i219-V

The Intel i219-V is only working with the additional driver extension, which i can't seem to get working on 6.2.1. I read somewhere that 6.2.1 breaks non official pcie devices, so i guess that will be the problem. Correct me if i'm wrong, but the only thing i don't get is that the i219-v uses e1000e, and i've seen people reporting that e1000e works on 6.2.1.

Loader version and type (918+/3615xs/3617xs): Jun's Loader v1.04b - 918+

DSM version in use: DSM 6.2.1-23824 update 6

Using custom modules/ramdisk: NO

Motherboard: ASRock Z390-ITX/AC, 16GB RAM

CPU: I5-8400T

LAN: Dual Intel 219/211 built in

SATA controller: Dell Perc 310 flashed to latest 20.07 LSI IT firmware

Installs and works OK. Problems: 219V LAN port does not work due to new IDs from Intel, HDD hibernation does not work on the LSI controller, drives will spin down but will not wake up causing system partition failure. They spin up when system shutdown command is issued from the UI. Drives connected to the 6 MB built in sata ports work fine with HDD hibernation enabled. Looking to try an ASMedia 1601 controller instead.

Loader: Jun's Loader v1.04b for DSM 6.2 (on USB 2.0 Stick Intenso Micro Line 4 GB)

DSM: DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 6 - DS918+

Bare Metal (build and installed in 05.2019)

Motherboard: ASUS P11C-I (Mini-ITX)

Chipset: Intel C242

CPU: Intel Core i3-8100 (Socket 1151v2) 4x 3.60GHz

RAM: 2x 8GB G.Skill Aegis DDR4-2400 DIMM CL15 (running as DDR4-2100 according to BIOS)

Integrated NIC: 2x Gb LAN (Intel I210-AT)

HDDs SATA: 3x 8TB WD80EFAX (WD Red)

SDD Cache: 2x 120GB Crucial BX500 (SATA)

NVMe SDD: 512 GB WesternDigital/SanDisk PC SN520 (M.2 2242, PCIe 3.0) >> reported as model WD5000-BEVT in DSM Disk Manager >> NOT working, DSM displays "I/O-Error" in Disk Manager protocols

Other than the NVMe SDD, the system works as a charm, including both GB-LAN ports.

I removed the NVMe SDD. Also, I still have an SATA-Port available, so I'll add another big SATA SDD soon. Also, I plan to get a PCIe LAN Card with 2x 10GBE (RJ-45), but am currently unsure which model would be working out-of-Jun's-box.

MANY THANKS to JUN and all Forum Members, who's information helped me pinpoint the necessary hardware for my Server!!!

Just stumbled upon this project and WOW!

Completely stock ancient Dell Optiplex 755 was on my workbench so I attached two drives and now I have FRANKENSYN!

Control panel shows:

Model name DS3615xs

CPU Intel Core i3-4130 (actually is even older, a Core 2 Duo)

DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 4

Happily running in RAID-1 with two 1TB drives,  lots of little files copying to it at around 320 Mbps ... not bad!

This is AMAZING, thank you to everyone who had a hand in it!!!!!
