Since there is a big userbase with HP Microserver G7,

it would be nice to have support for the builtin NIC, HP NC107i based on BCM5723.

It has been supported up until now, when 6.2.1 broke it.

Hi bearcat,

i have built the driver for DS918+.

It seems the driver need firmware, so i have put it in the zip too.

you can load the driver with insmod /path/to/tg3.ko

Let me know if it work

Broadcom-TG3.zip

I have old machine and tried to load ata_piix.ko in dsm6.2 (DS3615ws) . but it didn't work (made coredump)..

I need ata-piix.ko in dsm6.2 . Thanks.

the driver was build for 6.2 on DS3617xs. So can you try it with that?

Hi,

Im a noob at PCI-E SAS/SATA expander cards.
When looking at the good ones from LSI in this list: http://xpenology.me/compatible/ there is very few options.

I can only buy those LSI cards in that list or will other work as well? I need something that has some internal and some external ports, not just 8internal or so like in the list.

Is it possible to request this for a specific card I might buy here? For DS918+ DSM 6.2.1 (latest)

Thanks and sorry if post is wrong..

You're right. I inserted  ata_piix.ko in rc.modules of extra.lzma, and it detected my disks.

I can try to migrate ds3615ws to ds3617ws.

Thanks.

virtio_net driver for QEMU/KVM will be also useful for me.

I am using the unraid, which using RedHat KVM, I have to change the setting in xml, the network from  "<model type='virtio'/>" to the " <model type='e100'/>".

For the reason I don't understand, this setting will be reset every time I reboot the VM, so It will be best if it has driver for KVM.

+3, w/o the virtio_net driver, we can only go for Intel E1000 which is slow

Dear friends, please help win Microserver Gen10 support for AMD Opteron X3421 APU.

Tried:

1.02b with 6.1.7 and 6.2 starts but VMM do not load virtual machines. Tried to add Extra.Izma 4.8 to 6.1.7 - didnt help.

1.04b with 6.2.1 and 6.2.1 Updated 2 starts but VMM do not load virtual machines.

Fixed errors about "TUN" in log when staring VM by:

mkdir /dev/net
mknod /dev/net/tun c 10 200
chmod 600 /dev/net/tun
ls -l /dev/net
cat /dev/net/tun
insmod /lib/modules/tun.ko

but this doesn't help.

i have build some kernel modules for broadwell 6.2. I have checked all things related to virtio, AMD, Intel Net, Broadcom Net and many Media Drivers. Maybe you will find some useful modules.

Also i have build modules for TT-Budget S2-4200, SkyStar2 and SkystarHD.

When you get a error message regarding "missing symbols" then you had to load a dependent module before.

Broadwell_6.2_Kernel-Modules.zip

Any chance you can also build the MegaRAID drivers (megaraid and megaraid_sas)? I'm trying to use a Dell H330 (Chipset SAS3008)/ LSI 9341-8i which according to LSI should be using megaraid drivers.

Edit: Just to clarify, I am trying use this with loader V1.03b with a DS3617 image and DSM version 6.2

Hi Jay,

sure..

And thank you for the needed informations like version, needed driver name and usedimage..

Do you want to use the H330 with raid support or just pass through the disks to synology?

For passthrough i havent use any additions drivers. They just work out of the box.

I have compiled the requested drivers..

the order to load is:

megaraid_mm.ko
megaraid_mbox.ko
megaraid_sas.ko

ds3617_6.2_megaraid.zip

My first big ray of hope in days! I've tried everything I could come up with to make this card work but to no effect. I kid you not, I'm keeping count and as of this moment I've restarted my machine 92 times each time with some new combination of loader, drivers, image etc.

I am trying to use the card in passthrough mode (HBA). I also tested RAID mode with a RAID volume created and without (with disks marked NON RAID). Unfortunately, none of those work for me. I have 5 disks attached to the onboard SATA ports and those are visible and usable but none of the disks attached to the H330 are visible. I'll try the drivers you just supplied but would love to hear what else needs to be done to have the disks be visible in passthrough mode since that has not worked out of the box for me. I've tested my hardware by running Ubuntu live and the card and all drives attached to it are visible in passthrough mode.

Btw, I also tried compiling drivers against bromolow earlier and the default drivers in that kernel don't have the PCI ID in the source for this card. I got the latest sources from Broadcom but that source either won't compile independently or the Synology image shows the driver crashing when it is being loaded.

I will test the drivers you've sent now and report back shortly. Btw, I tried the drivers in your original package and the tg3 driver there fails on my machine (original driver provided with the image works fine)

have you cross flashed the controller like here described:  Crossflashing of LSI 9341-8i ?

Seems to be not optimal regarding SMART, but i havent read the whole article.

BTW

i have flashed all my cards to IT-Mode for using it directly in DSM.

But now im using ESXi and want to have raid support. :-)

Good luck with the drivers!

If they dont work, let me know the error message from dmesg..

I saw that Crossflashing post a while back but there is no jumper on my card so I don't think I can perform those steps. All I can do is to set it in HBA mode. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I tried the megaraid drivers you gave me and both megaraid_sas and megaraid_mbox fail to load.
