Driver extension jun 1.03a2/DSM6.2.x for DS918+

Hi,

I have HP ML350p with p420i card. Would it be possible to use those extra.lzma for 3615/17, or are there plans for extra.lzma for the v.1.03b loader?

intel e1000e driver (like on the Intel Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter) ist part of the original image that one will work ootb

also intel igb driver is present in the original image

even r8168 driver is presen in d918 image so extra cheap realtek card will work too ootb

 

i'm not going to do anything new as long as the new intel 9100T cpu isn't available, thats the only part missing for my new nas hardware and when i'm doing drivers for this one (gigabyte b360m-hd3 board with realtek 8118 nic) i will have a look at other drivers too (preferably drives i have test hardware around, after this for hardware that has do be implemented without testing)

I need the drivers for my MSi z170a board. I also have a MNPA19-XTR 10GB MELLANOX CONNECTX-2 PCIe X8 10Gbe SFP+ connected, with for me, it what I really need.

 

I am using the DS3617xs, with 1.04b, and 6.1., and hopping to add the DSM_DS3617xs_24922 that I saw.

I was struggling with drivers for my 2 10Glan NIC to get it to work. and I found this link.  I changed my extra.lzma file for the 0.4 that I just download it, (0.5 could get it).

 

Now internal motherboard NIC is not recognized, and the other 2 10Glan NIC still does not work.

 

The 2 that I left on the Network compatibility list, are the two that I have. I am just trying to get one going, and take the other one out.

 

If there a link where I can learn how to open the extra.lzma, and add drivers?

Why, if I added this new extra.lzma into my USB, non of my cards work?

 

Note: I am using MSI Z170A GAMING M5

After 2 weeks, when I was ready to start copying files and after I have done all the test, now my system is not recognized when I try http://find.synology.com/

 

I have also tried Synology Assistance software and cannot be found.

 

When I go to my router settings, I can see that my router is assigning 2 IP address to both of my NIC's, my built-in on the motherboard (MSi z170a), and the 10Gbe SFP+( MNPA19-XTR 10GB MELLANOX CONNECTX-2 PCIe X8). Even when I try the IP:5000 I cannot find the server.

 

The only think that changed, was that for some reason, my motherboard BIOS battery died, and I put a new one. I do not know if there a setting that was there before, that was enable or disable, and it is changed now.

 

Know I cannot access, what I have already copy, or nothing.

If your nic's are being assigned ip address, that means they are detected, however that you cant reach web interface means probably your DSM installation is broken, so you need to reinstall

that loader is not supported anymore, use loader 1.04b and for dsm 6.2.2 the new extra.lzma's are not optional because of kernel options changes

Can someone please help me to make a 10Gbit Synology adaptor, work with my XPEnology?

 

It's a custom Asus mobo, which has only 2x1Gbit cards

So I bought this card: E10G18-T1

 

but it's not detected (DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 5)

 

I tried disabling the realtek (2nd) nic on the bios (keeping only 1, intel) but still nothing

 

The 10Gb card lights are blinking though..

 

I've seen something about a .pat file for drivers? How do I install it?

I think I have the loader 1.03

How do I create a new usb with 1.04?

Will that include the driver?

 

I really forgot about this XPE thing since it was intalled, about 1y ago..

 

Any help would be appreciated.

if you use 24922 then you will need different drivers (as of changes in the kernel of synology in dsm s6.2.2 aka 24922)

just copy the extra.lzma (depending on you loader type) to the 2nd partition of your usb replacing the files there and you should be good after the next reboot

this card might be a aquantia based card (older 10G Base-T from synology was a tehuti)

Got it working!!!  (took me some looong hours...)

 

Had to include these 4 files (from 'extra918plus_v0.8_std.zip') in partition 2 (usb boot)

*Also disabled 2nd integrated nic (a realtek)

 

 

I hope I can get faster speeds, when I have more than 3 drives in both NAS'es

 

At the end, I confirmed, there was NO need to change mac/pid on the grub.cfg in partition 1

thats only true if you don't install the *.pat file and use it to test if you can find it in network

if vid/pid in grub do not match the real one's of you usb device you will get error 13 when installing

the mac is only needed when using WOL or for some reason you need to use a pair of valid serial and mac

i guess you meant to say you dont need serial and mac for installing (both can be changed later in the grub.cfg if needed)

the card is original synology but its not supported on all hardware (and it needs a minimal dsm version 6.2-23739-2 or 6.1-15284-2), a atlantic.ko driver is only present in 3615/17 not in 918+ image to it should have been working ootb as native drivers with 3615/17, but doesn't matter as the driver is also in the extra drivers

virtio drivers are there for long but where not loaded automatically, i changed that (and added some things)  in the latest extra for 3617 and plan to do the same for 3615 and 918+

but why so complicated, you could  mount a smb share or a nfs share in the vm
