Cr4z33 Posted July 7, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2018 So I've got one single hard disk and four others in a HSR Raid. Question is how can I force DSM to be installed in the single drive? It keeps wanting to install in the RAID array...
Polanskiman Posted July 10, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 10, 2018 Not sure I understand your question precisely but DSM gets installed on all HDDs you feed into your box. You don't actually force DSM to be installed on a specific HDD. Can you please detail what problem you are facing? Also no need to double post your problem in multiple topics.
Cr4z33 Posted July 10, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted July 10, 2018 Yeah sorry for the double post (forgot to delete the previous one). I meant exactly what you said. I (wrongly) thought that DSM gets installed in one volume only therefore I was struggling into it. Thanks for your clarification.

DSM installs itself in every single HDD you decide to integrate whether it is to an existing raid or you use the drive out of your raid. The purpose is for redundancy. In the unlikely event that all drives were to die at the same time except one then you would still be able to access DSM.
