jensmander Posted June 10, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 10, 2018 Hi. I recently stumbled across this project: https://github.com/luckylz2git/exfat-synology Tested on DSM 6.1.7 (bare metal) and works without any problems.

TNa681 Posted February 25, 2020 Share #3 Posted February 25, 2020 (edited) Hi, just found this thread. As I am very interested in getting exFat running on my Xpenology for sure I'll give it a try. Altough I'm a bit concerned to not beeing able to go though the SSH or Telnet thing. It would be my first time doing this. For instance: #2 SSH to NAS & enable root account; ssh admin@ipaddress | pretty sure I have to type in my ipaddress sudo su - synouser --setpw root your_new_root_password | is "synouser" a placeholder for my account name and "password" as well ? eXcalibre Posted August 14, 2020 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2020 Hi TNa. I was happy to see this post, as i also would be quite happy paying for the plugin. I did however install it successfully on my 3615xs and it is pretty straight forward. Log in as a user and "sudo su -" then when requested, input the user password for the account you're loggin in as. then type in "synouser --setpw root <YOUR PASSWORD HERE> This sets the root users password. Hope it helps. It is also worth reading down the full information on the link above as there are a couple more things to do to get this working. They're not difficult, but definately worth while doing.
