j4kara Posted April 19, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 19, 2018 Hi, VMM gives kmode exception handling error(blue screen with qrcode) and reboot loop at win 10 and win 2016 installations. Switching "cpu compability mode" on fixes the issue with beta program only. There no option for basic version. As a Vmware user, they had similiar issues until V12.5 too, then they fixed it. I hope their solution helps you too.

tokio69 Posted October 4, 2019 Share #4 Posted October 4, 2019 I know this is old but any fix on this? I have a new SuperMicro server setup with the latest DSM 6.2.2. I want to transfer and startup my VM's and none of the Win10 Win Server 2019 versions are booting. Only if I change to CPU compatibility mode they boot but I see some old Intel Duo CPU in windows. I tried to setup a new one with Win 10 1809 and cannot even get to the first screen, directly KMOD, tested with UEFI and legacy Bios Also tried al kinds of HD settings like changing to SATA , nothing works. Where is the problem exactly? in Windows, in DSM version or in the hardware CPU?
tokio69 Posted November 15, 2019 Share #5 Posted November 15, 2019 a month later but still no solution anyone? All my VM's are running in compatibility mode but not on normal mode, strange that I am the only one with this problem it seems.
j4kara Posted December 27, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted December 27, 2019 It is obviously xeon based synology products( as 3615xs, 3617xs). Kernel is not compatible with new intel i series processors. Ds918 works perfect lywith all new intel cpus without compatibility mode selected.
flyride Posted December 27, 2019 Share #7 Posted December 27, 2019 FWIW DS3615xs is an i3-4130, DS3617 is a Xeon D. There are no Xeon-specific dependencies on any of the XPE-enabled code bases. Synology VMM has always been a bit finicky. For my own use, it did not take me long to move those workloads to ESXi instead.
