makebei Posted February 24, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 24, 2014 I've been running XPEnology without any issues on a HP Microserver N54L for a couple of months now. I decided to move my server to another room in the house so I disconnected it and plugged it in to the new location, but now I'm unable to connect to it. I thought it might be the network cables but I've put it back where it used to be. I get network lights on the back of the server and on the switch, but my router doesn't see the server at all. This means that Synology Assistant doesn't see it either. I connected a keyboard to the NAS and logged in as root and ran ifconfig -a, but only the "lo" localhost adapter is displayed. There is no eth0 displayed. Has anyone had this issue before? How can I get the network interface working again?
makebei Posted February 24, 2014 Author Share #2 Posted February 24, 2014 I was unable to identify what was causing this issue. In the end I just got a new USB stick and reinstalled XPEnology onto it. All my settings still seem to be there which is great and eth0 now appears.
