Any of you guys have the same prob?

Cheers and thanks!

Hello!

What kind of problems with Plex on XPEnology are you have?

I'm using latest version of XPEnology DS3612xs on HP MicroServer G7 - all right.

Thanks!

Hi Alex 007.

DS413 - Plex WORKING

Trantor 4.3 - Plex WORKING

gnuBOOT 10.5 - Plex NOT working, I Can't find any media files in my folders which contains all my movies/tv series.

Maybe I have to open some new ports on my router even if I'm only on LAN?

Greetings!

From the release notes:

Known Issue

Plex Media Server

Users need to manually set read permission for the “plex” user at the User page in Control Panel to allow Plex Media Server to read the shared media folder content.

DSM 5.0 known issue with Plex... maybe that answers your question.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I myself have a weird issue where I can't reach DSM anymore without manually putting the port number 5000 behind the ip address. This is with a local ip address as well as externally with a domain name. Basically DSM used to automatically redirect port 80 to port 5000 which isn't working anymore and this happened after installing update 2.

As long as I put in port 5000 manually behind the ip address it's all working fine, but it's not supposed to work like this as far as I know.

I usually try to handle my own problems but this has been kicking my butt all day.

I've finally decided to update my box but now I can't even load the the dang .pat file. Synology Assistant sees the NAS, and I'm able to ping it but when I try to reach the Web Assistant, it is telling me that connection failed and I need to check my settings. I've opened up the firewall and nothing. I've used the 10.3 custom esxi and 10.5 and both are giving me the same issue. My setup is below

4 Cores

4GB RAM

10.3/10.5 VDMK with 8GB second drive (VM Paravirtual)

LSI 1068E IT Mode passthrough with 4 drives attached.

I've searched and came up empty. I was wondering if anyone has ran into this issue and if you have, what did you do to fix it.

I'm extra lost now...lol. This is working in Virtualbox but won't let me do anything in ESXi or VMWare Player. So I'm going to install the .pat and then create an OVA and try to install from there. *crosses fingers*

-----------------------------------------------------------

I'll be doggone if that didn't work. I had to install DSM in Virtualbox, create an OVA but that didn't work in ESXi, so I had to run it in VMWare Player and then use vCenter Converter to move it to esxi but it picked everything up, didn't lose data, though I had to recreate users and reinstall packages. Everything is looking great so far!

how to add serial number to the set?

You can put in a serial number in this file: menu_alpha.lst which is on the USB boot stick.

Open the file with a text editor and it should look like this:

timeout 3
default 0
fallback 1

title gnoboot-alpha
root (hd0,0)
kernel /zImage sn=B6T4N12345

title main menu
configfile (hd0,0)/boot/grub/menu.lst

You have to reboot after changing it on a running DSM.

Hi,

I try to install Xpenology with gnoboot 10.5 but I have this message :

"fixing recursive fault but reboot is needed"

What do I do ?

Jerome

I read several times in these forums about removing the optical drive if you have a optical drive that is and get this message. It should work fine then.

Are there any known problems with the VPN Server package in gnoBoot DSM 5.0? I migrated from a trantor 4.3 build and initially the VPN Server package was causing system hangs that stopped me from using Package Center. I had to SSH in and kill the VPN processes before uninstalling the package. I reinstalled the package and can get PPTP working, but L2TP frequently causes systems hangs. Sometimes i can enable L2TP but other times if i make changes to the L2TP settings or try and disable it , i just get 'Operation cannot be performed error'. If i reboot, at this point then the DSM doesn't properly startup and wont let me login until i SSH and kill the VPN processes. Any ideas what is causing this?

Got the exact same problem - But I've got no answer on how to fix it or what is wrong.

I've got an installation on a N54L native (no ESXi) upgraded from 4.3 (L2TP working) and an installation on ESXi installed from scratch - both fails with the same errors as yours. PPTP also works fine on my installations.

-Flash usb with gnoboot

-boot using gnoboot.me

-find the station using synology asistant.

but at this point the assistant doesnt say "migratable" instead it says "Configuration lost"

has anyone come by this ?? I'm hesitant to proceed.

The only thing I read about on the official Synology website is that this will happen when you reset the NAS, but you won't lose any data (although not guaranteed). Only the configuration and settings will be lost, but that shouldn't be a big issue. If you don't want to lose your data making a backup is highly recommended of course. :!:

No, update failed. Procedure
sed 's/flashupdateDeb/flashupdateDeb1/' /autoupd@te.info > /autoupd@te.info1

mv /autoupd@te.info1 /autoupd@te.info

doesn't work for me.

That method is only for small updates, not new builds (4458 vs 4482).

edit: I think gnoboot just needs to and the new build version to the version file buried in rd.gz, which is buried in the zImage now. Lets hope he finds some time to update it

edit2: looks like I was wrong. It's much easier  Just need to edit grub menu_me

kernel /zImage gnoboot_me=5.0-4482

But looks like they added new secruity meaursures

Hi, I have just updated my DSM from 4.3-3810 to 5.0-4438 using gnoboot-alpha 10.5 in my N54l . I then plugged in my Contex DTV-01 USB stick (with "LGS8GL5" chipset) but the device manager can't detect the USB stick (It can be detected while I was using DSM 4.3-3810). Can anyone help me with this issue?

Below is the dmesg information after i plugged in the Contex DTV-01 USB stick but the DSM Panel still doesn't show any external usb device is connected:

[ 525.247101] usbcore: deregistering interface driver dvb_usb_cxusb

[ 528.348829] dsmnotify.cgi[6374]: segfault at 0 ip 000000000804ccb8 sp 00000000ffe65c30 error 6

[ 528.797115] usb 1-3: new high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci_hcd

[ 529.203259] dvb_usb_cxusb: probe of 1-3:1.0 failed with error -22

[ 529.203383] usbcore: registered new interface driver dvb_usb_cxusb

BTW, I found the firmware for "LGS8GL5" chipset of this DMB-TH USB stick Contex DTV-01: https://github.com/cernekee/linux-firmw ... lgs8g75.fw

I tried to put it in volume1/@appstore/VideoStation/etc/KernelFirmwares/ folder but the USB stick still cannot be detected.

Can anyone help with this issue?
