cam help me?

 

i use gnoboot10.3 boot xpe 3827

is can boot is work

 

but how to upgrade to 4458?

 

use boot gnoboot.me 4458(install/upgrade/downgrade)?

 

but this one is new install?

i boot this one in web install page can't find upgrade

Update for v5 on XenServer

 

Problem with hard disks persists. During installation of DSM -> Error 38. Tried 4458, 3827, booting with/without gnoboot_me... Still the same :sad:

Problem with hard disks persists. During installation of DSM -> Error 38. Tried 4458, 3827, booting with/without gnoboot_me... Still the same :sad:

Works like a charm on HP N54L with gnoboot 10.3 NATIVE!

 

Not testet much so far, but by now I'm pretty happy with it. Just got the device today

and directly fired up the 10.3 image on it following this guide: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2545#p13838

 

Here are a few Screenshots (german ui), setup is the N54L with 5 disks (4 internal, 1 in a 5 1/4" noname Sata-Frame) and the USB Stick on the internal Port.

okey :grin: (misunderstood your gdisk files..), anyway I just downloaded last one just now:

DSM 5.0 4458 sucesfully installed on XenServer 6.2SP1 using gnoboot-alpha10.3-zImage !

  • Using 32MB primary boot disk, and 8GB second system disk, 2 VCPU, 512MB RAM
  • Using HVM (Other install media, during Xen VM creation).
  • Disabled viridian `xe vm-param-set uuid=... platform:viridian=false` (Makes sure virt-what coretly recognizes Xen)
  • gnoBoot image installed using `dd if=gnoboot-alpha-vfat.img of=/dev/sda1` (Using Debian Live distro)
  • Modified `/boot/grub/menu_alpha.lst` and `/boot/grub/menu_me.lst` added `vga=0x318 sn=B3JN00...`
  • DSM 5.0 4458 installed after booting with grub menu item gnoboot.me –> install/upgrade/downgrade 4458

Hi everyone!

Once again, many thanks Gnoboot for your work!

I managed to upgrade to the DSM 5.0 4458 with the gnoboot 10.3vfat image on a HP N54L. Before, I had a native install with DSM 4.3 3827.

So far it works pretty well. No loss of data. The only things is that i don't see my shared folders in the File station, eventhough settings are still the same as i had on the previous DSM and i can access my shared files... I guess i'll have to go through the settings again.

 

As soon as i find time, i'll try an install with esxi 5.1. Will let you know how it goes.

Edit: problem solved. It was a user right issue.
