As it looks like, hp's ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 will be available soon for $ 399.- However, as of now, only one model is available, the one with AMD Opteron X3216 processor. Are there any plans to support this platform with a 1.02c or 1.03 release of Jun's loader?

Hello I managed to install in N40l xpenology DSM 6.1.5-15254 with jun loader v1.02b. All seems to work fine (i have slow transfer through samba) but that is not working is when i must restart the server i can find the server . The only way is to select the second option from usb boot that is "DS3615xs 6.1 Baremetal with Jun's Md v1.02b Reinstall"

Multiple vulnerabilities allow remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands or conduct denial-of-service attacks, or allow remote attackers to delete arbitrary files via a susceptible version of DiskStation Manager (DSM). Note: Synology recommends to update DSM to 6.2.2-24922-4. Before updating please check the updates report section. If your system is not open to the internet (NAT, port forwarding, QuickConnect, etc.) you should be safe. Further infos on Synology website.

Прошу помощи у форумчан, пришел с работы пытаюсь зайти на хренолоджи (установлен на обычный атом, висящий в коробке за монитором), а ом мне в ответ - у вас нет прав на доступ в данное устройство DSM, абсолютно под всеми учетными записями админскими, пользовательскими и дефолтно админскими. Понимаю, что оперативно никто не ответит, но ужасно срочно нужен файл с хранилища, без которого кердык - беглый просмотр веток форума не помог, может кто сталкивался с таким? PS Под рутом запустил в консоль хотя-бы...

I 'm using my NAS PC for quite some time (over three years) and it is the first time that DSM doesn't update. Everytime a new update is released, I wait to see if it's safe to do it and only when I see it 's OK, I'm doing it. This time the update procedure is failing and the below error message is displayed. Does anyone know how to fix it? Or should I pass this update? Please advise.

Hi, I've just got an XPEnology install up and running with Jun's loader under a Proxmox hypervisor. Everything seems to be working fine, persisting across reboots etc, but I'm just wondering where the DSM configuration data is stored? I have 4 SATA disks configured for direct passthrough and a RAID5 volume placed on them, and I boot the system using the synoboot.img from the loader. But where is all the DSM data stored? I can't see the synoboot.img changing and I don't know where else it would go.

Hello, I have a Problem with my Server. Server: Dual XEON X5650 Mainboard: Supermicro 8DTH Ram: 48GB Samsung ECC DDR3 USB-Stick as first and only boot device The server was running a long time good, but after an Update it changed. The Server does not boot anymore from the old USB stick so i made a new one but there the Server booted but i can‘t finde it in the Software. After that the server had sometimes a blackscreen with a blinking cursor, sometimes it couldn‘t load the kernel and somtimes only a blckscrean. I mad a few more USB sticks but no one woked. I tried it in a other computer, there it worked.

Hello folks, I have search on the forum and internet and I can't find an information on how to do it. There is some tutorial to do it without esxi but not with it. Currently, I don't have enough space on other disk to save everything and make a fresh install. So I would like to update without loosing any data. Does someone already did it ? For my understanding, I should select Jun's mod 1.02b vmdk file and start it as a primary drive. But will it update or overwrite the current xpenology? Thx, David

Hey everyone, Currently playing on an N40L, using Jun's loader 1.02b, and succeeded to use the latest DSM 6.1.4-15217 Update 4. However, i'll replace both my N40L and my genuine DS215J with an HP microserver gen10 next week, and i'm planning to take the latest possible DSM. Updating DSM 6.1.4-15217 Update 4 to DSM_DS3615xs_6.2_23511 or DSM_DS3615xs_6.2-22259 results in failing DSM. I'm not sure if Jun or anyone else is working on this but i wish and really hope it . So basically I'm looking for a tutorial/guide on how to install DSM 6.2 beta (yet) on Hp Microserver (gen10). Alternatively i wish to understand how to do some logging / data collection of the loader to help the guys make a working loader for DSM6.2. Any suggestion is welcome! R/Mark (And thanks goes for Synology for making such a shit product (DS215J) with a great software (DSM) and with the worst customer support who can only say we are sorry for the inconvenience but not helping at all. This really helped me a lot to decide and build a XPEnology lately.) Just found the other topic as well, but not updated in the past 2 months.

I have a question regarding models. Running baremetal: DS3617XS 1.0.2b and 6.1.3 15152 Update1 Before I had ds3615xs installed. I migrated to ds3617xs becouse of my 2X Xeon prosessors. (2 X 2.16 quad) The thing i found out is that synocomunity and others dont support ds3617xs with their packages. I run Docker for some of these packages, but should I, or not, migrate back to ds3615xs with my prosessors in mind? Another thing that occured is that my 12Gb ram, was reduced to 8Gb ram after migrating to ds3617xs. That might be hardware fault, not sure. Thank you.

Hi, I have inadvertently damaged my nanoboot usb drive. This usb nanoboot stick has been functioning for years now without any problems. I have a couple of harddrives attached and due to the age I don't have all the setup details anymore. While I was trying to create a new xpenology machine, I believe the DSM web assistant has connected to my nanoboot server, and inadvertently damadged / wrote to my nanoboot server. Since then it won't boot anymore. Boot ends with "Diskstation login:" cursor, and the synology webassistant finds my old nanoboot server as a DS3612xs migratable machine. I guess that information has been written to the bootsector of either the usb stick or to the harddrives. Preferably I would like to just restore my nanoboot server. If this shows impossible, I would like to try to recover the contents of the hard drives. I have already tried the following: - made a new nanoboot usb stick and tried to boot ->> this does not work (Diskstation login prompt) - boot with a ubuntu stick (version 12.10 I had lying around on a CD) ->> could not mount the hard drives, the volumes show as raid, ext4, but I was unable to mount them During boot process: - eth0 not running - eth1 not running So I'm not sure up to what point my installation has been damaged. What can you advise? Thanks for helping out!

Currently i am running DSM 6.0.2-8451 Update 7 on my HP Microserver Gen8 and i would like to start updating it to the latest version. However, its been a while for me since I installed this update. Is possible to perform an update with the newest loader? Are there any tutorials/guids available? There used to be some pinned tutorials..

I used to run DSM 6.1.4 on an HP Microserver Gen8 using loader 1.02b. a few days ago, I accidentally upgrade the DSM to 6.2 beta (it is stupid, i know), and the box just didn't boot anymore. In Synology Assistant, the Gen8 is not even discoverable (two NICs on Gen8 was configured as Bond connection in 6.1.4). I tried to prepare a fresh USB with 1.02b Loader， and after the box is booted into reinstall mode, I actually can find the both NIC in Synology Assistant, and the status is showing as recoverable. Same thing as if I access the box in the browser, it asks me to recover, but the problem will remain after choosing recover in either way. Please kindly help me on that. Thank you very much.

Hi, I am a student at the University of Cincinnati and am looking to install DSM on one of my home rigs I have: Right now: 2C2T Sandy bridge Celeron (2nd gen intel) Gigabyte MOBO (embedded CPU) 4GB ram Various 1, 2 & 3tb HDDs Vtech 4 port HBA card In the future? (when I upgrade my current gaming rig) 4c8T Xeon E3-1265V3 (I7-4790 equivalent ) on ASUS or Asrock or Gigabyte MOBO 16 to 32gb ram Various 1, 2 & 3tb+ HDDs HBA card Possibly cache SSD Possibly 10GBe if prices are right I would be looking to experiment with hosting a website, and also would like to store video content on this server. I don't know though, what image and loader version to go with. I played around with DSM 6.1 BUT any time I went through the Synology Assistant, It would brick my build. The nas would not get recognized when i boot it back up after using the assistant. So? I am looking for the best Loader and PAT file for my goals. I want a stable system, w/h expansion that I can expand to a bigger CPU and more ram. I want to play with features, but also need to know that my data is as safe as it can be. *I have a DROBO Right now, but it's been giving me headaches so i want a new primary Nas Server* ThX, Josh

Hello. A time I come reading the forum, ultimately I have decided to go for a NAS since my disc of network was not going too much good. I have followed the steps of several pages with indications and recommendations and several tutoriales, some of the forum and others of thereabouts, and ultimately I am decide for a HPE microserver GEN10, in which I have installed ubuntu 16.04 server (8gb ram, ssd and several hdd more). In this SO I have installed oracle virtualbox (I have tried so much with 5.40 of the repos of ubuntu, since with her 5.1.x of oracle for ubuntu 16.04). In VBOX is virtualizado successfully the DMS (with a system disc of 10Gb-poniéndolo scsi as the tuto say, but in a particion of the ssd - and that of launcher-loader in way ide, also in this partition of the ssd-, 2 cores, 2Gb of RAM ...). My problem comes, once installed and formed the DMS, when I try to add discs for the storage, that I do not manage to add new virtual discs successfully, only I can use as discs those of system (loader and the own partition of the SO, which scarcely they have usable space). On having tried to add other two discs hdd big that I want to use (several teras) there is no way of them connecting to the DSM. In the VM I put them without problems, have tried doing a link vmdk "virtually" to an entire disc directly and also creating a new vdi of fixed size and it adding like sata to the VM) but in no case it recognizes them as discs of the system. More that I have come it is to taking them as external units, with what he me shares them complete and I cannot create volumes, quotas, raid... I suppose that some he will say to me that he should install the DMS directly in one of the hdd directly (it was not my idea, which wanted to leave it only for information, but it it might it does this way) but in this case I will be equal, when it wants to add another disc of storage, how will I do it? How is it necessary to do this process? Must I put the virtual discs connected to the machine of virtualbox before starting installing? I have not found anything on this topic and gun-sight for that I have looked, but the same thing I am awkward ... help me please!!! Regards, Héctor.

Hey Folks - We have made some great progress with our install and stuck on the very last step. 😩 Our Disktation installs successfully, reboots and comes back up again - after a few minutes the interface refreshes and says "Starting Services" in the assistant, if you browse to the web interface it states "System is getting ready" and simply sits there.... After a good 30 minutes nothing happens and it doesn't seem to move past this stage. We have Juns 1.02b boot loader and the DSM_DS3615xs_15152.pat file for the installation as per the guide. Hardware Setup: SuperMicro X9DBL-IF Motherboard 2 x Intel XEON E5-2418L 48Gb Ram ECC 3 x LSi 9211-8i (Flashed to IT Mode - Dell H200) HP NC365T Ethernet controller Various Hard Drives on the LSi's Has anyone else experienced anything similar to the above or can offer any insight / guidance as to what might be up? Hi all, I have DSM 6.0.2-8451 update 11, model DS3615xs with Juns loader 1.01 on HP ProLiant 160 Gen9 (VMware esxi 6.5) and I have problem with samba. When I want to open office documents larger (cca than 1MB) samba seys: "smb2 sendfile send_data: sendfile failed for file <whatever> (Connection reset by peer). Terminating" This is done on all computers (10pcs with win10 and office2016) that are connected to the DSM. Do not know where the problem might be? Thanks a lot, Martin.

Hello all, Unfortunately, I was unable to install 1.02b on esxi 6.0 Update 3 by following different guides throughout the forum. So after a few hours of testing, I wrote myself a guide for future use. I tested these situations: 1. DS3615 baremetal in basic disk -> VM 2. DS3615 baremetal in raid 1 disk -> VM 3. DS3617 baremetal in basic disk -> VM 4. DS3617 baremetal in raid 1 disk -> VM 5. VMs back to baremetal in both basic and raid 1 disk without losing any data. My personal guide is attached as a PDF. Can anyone link me to a PCIe Gigabit NIC that they have confirmed working on Jun's DSM6.1? Ordered an Intel nic on amazon, of course it was too old (used e1000e). Looking to buy one that I know will work. Thanks! Currently using an AR8151 on DSM5.2, but it doesn't seem to be working with Jun's loader.

Hi, after installing DSM on my server, it reboots the server and goes straight to a black screen with a blinking cursor. Any one else experienced this? Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot and resove? Thanks. -
Bonjour, Je suis actuellement en pleine migration de serveur. J'était sur un ESXi en 5.5. J'avais un DSM 5.x. Aujourd'hui je passe sur un ESXi 6.5, cependant j'aimerais profiter de cette migration pour passer sur du DSM 6.x. J'ai essayé pas mal de choses que j'ai vu sur le net, ici et ailleurs. Rien n'abouti, VM qui de démarre pas et j'en passe. J'aimerais repartir de 0 en suivant vos conseil, vos lien de qualité. Merci d'avance pour votre aide.

Yesterday my house's breakers tripped, and my NAS(Xpenology DSM 6.1.3-Update 1) shut down. After that, I get the error below with practically everything (Control panel - show user details, Download station, Package center, .........) So now I'm left with a bare-bone NAS only with SMB. Any reasons why? Any help will be well appreciated. **Translation : "Task Failed" ** **Trying to click on 'Reset Everything' on the Control Panel doesn't do anything **

어제 정전이 된 후부터 뭘 클릭했던간에 계속 이게 나오네요ㅠㅠ 좀 전에는 그것만 나오다가 이젠 제어판에서 사용자를 누르거나 Download Station을 실행시켜도 이럽니다 "작업 실패" 이거 어떻게 해야하는지 좀 알려주세요.... ** 제어판에서 초기화하려 해도 초기화 버튼 누르고 비번 입력한 뒤에 아무런 반응이 없어 포기했습니다** 백업이 정전때문에 날라가서 백업도 없어요ㅠㅠ
