About Me

  1. Salut mise en place d'une carte reseau 10Gb Asus XG-C100C
  2. Hi everyone! This is my first post on this forum. I made an Xpenology NAS from my old DELL T40 computer with an H310 controller in IT mode, 8x 2TB HDD. In this DELL I have an ASUS XG-C100C 10gbps network card. Unfortunately, Xpenology does not recognize this card. What drivers do I need to install for Xpenology to see this card? Do I have to reinstall the system or is it possible to install drivers for this card? SYSTEM: DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 6 DEVICE: DS3622xs+ I installed Xpenology from the arpl-1.1-beta2a.img image Thanks!
  3. There is no explicit AMD support OR hyper-v. That needs a different (newly compiled) kernel and that is not the way jun's approach works, it uses the kernel that comes with DSM, this package is only about kernel modules that can be loaded with the original Synology kernel. !!!all sata_* and pata_* drivers are still not working because of the kernel source changes Synology did (same as in kernel 3.10.102 used and modded by Synology), as long as no one writes a patch for this I can use to fix this, it will stay this way !!! The extra.lzma ramdisks provided below have been tested to load on DSM 6.1.3 (15152 kernel source available), but I expect it also to work with 6.1.4 (15217, no source available yet) as it uses the same kernel (3.10.102) as base. To check if the hardware is supported with a driver, use a running DSM installation or boot a live Ubuntu from usb. In console type the following: lspci -k | grep 'Kernel driver' That command will list the used kernel modules for the hardware. Modules for network and storage will be listed. Compare that with the list of modules that comes with the extra.lzma ramdisks provided below. I am trying to keep the same supported hardware for all the three supported DSM images, namely DS3615xs, DS3617xs and DS916+. I will mention if there are differences between the ramdisks. Most likely it will be 916+ as the kernel seems to be compiled with less options then the other two (mostly in the network driver section. If the kernel internal driver cannot be compiled (like missing kernel options) or does not work (like newer hardware revisions not working - the 3.10.102 kernel is kind of "old") I will try to use external sources. By providing the source link, you will speed up the process of supporting your hardware. Below are the custom ramdisks for each version. Modules within them are not interchangeable so don't start playing smart by moving modules between them. It will not work. You also need to de-zip the downloaded file before adding the ramdisk to the loader. edit: these drivers come "as is" and are not maintained anymore, they will get new links for downloading but no new content as loader 1.3b/1.04b for DSM 6.2 work reliable and get updates by synology extra.lzma for ds3615 v4.8 https://gofile.io/d/Ng9Tgu SHA256: 240E908200E5213F4ABEFA97244BCCAC335144E69C392780122F7186E936B26D Mirrors by @rcached https://dailyuploads.net/l5jmh1msi59x https://usersdrive.com/wxkz9j0ijfag.html https://www37.zippyshare.com/v/5TYMyoBB/file.html extra.lzma for ds3615 v4.9_test - new Aquantia driver (atlantic.ko) v2.0.10.0, positive feedback to work with Asus XG-C100C https://gofile.io/d/fug8jl SHA256: 5DF770D7D95B848A237D3D0B80E83576EA6D28F6EFCA870E548E65744DAC8B8E Mirrors by @rcached https://dailyuploads.net/i71ulbij2hmm https://usersdrive.com/cyg6a0h5gn5e.html https://www38.zippyshare.com/v/zngrYKB6/file.html extra.lzma for ds3617 v4.8 https://gofile.io/d/fS2yNM SHA256: 8FCB3E1B4EE04BF8E852012CAC90F96751E0E2371C570CC4E9DD99D3F0226316 Mirrors by @rcached https://dailyuploads.net/bjvjn43hmucs https://usersdrive.com/shrv1tf0e2ry.html https://www119.zippyshare.com/v/w4nfda2z/file.html extra.lzma for ds916+ v4.8 https://gofile.io/d/Bi4Ddl SHA256: 28FA3C9C1D93D4996D34D5A541BFF214859DDBF00F3C3F1D78E231BFB5A0F874 Mirrors by @rcached https://dailyuploads.net/b7xi7gwnm1sw https://usersdrive.com/6nmzerh4a6qp.html https://www104.zippyshare.com/v/qXSFw77x/file.html If you wish to make a driver request do so in the topic linked below: If you wish to discuss problems about modules in these ramdisks then drop a post below. 4. Hi. curious about the article https://servicemax.com.au/tips/synology-10gigabit-ethernet-on-the-cheap/ I purchased an Asus 10GBe rj45 card. I am encountering an error when executing instructions in ssh: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/aqc107.sh start installing config removing synology kernel driver rmmod: ERROR: Module atlantic is not currently loaded installing proper module from /volume1/aqcnetconf/atlantic.ko insmod: ERROR: could not insert module /volume1/aqcnetconf/atlantic.ko: Invalid module format restarting networking, dont panic /etc/rc.network: line 1194: nat_stop_dhcpd: command not found [dhclient@eth0.service] stopped. 5. Hello! I've finally get a DSM 7.1.0-42661 working on my test system (i7-4770, rtl8111, Intel 8 Series C220 chipset). Now I'm trying to add a NIC Asus XG-C100C that is identified by TCRP as Aquantia Corp. AQC113CS NBase-T/IEEE 802.3bz Ethernet Controller [AQtion] [1d6a:94c0] The problem is if I add the atlantic module the installation always ended on a loop install. I've suppose that the driver is not valid for that NIC because his ID or the chipset itself is sensible different from is included on the rpext repo (which always reference to AQC107/8 but no AQC113CS). I've found the linux driver on the Asus website for this NIC, but I don't have any idea how can make it myself, in which distro linux could I make it or how compile to test it later on DSM 7, replacing the included atlantic.ko file, I'm totally newbie with these questions compilation related. Can somebody give me some basic instructions to start with? Thanks in advance.
  6. Hello, I`ve read a lot of update reports about DSM 7.1, but I didn't found and specific info about the hardware fully compatible with DSM 7.1 Actually I have 2 Xpenology NAS (one DSM 6.1.7 and other DSM 7.1), and I would like to merge both in one with new hardware. The parts for new would be: CPU: Intel Core i3-12100 Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690 UD DDR4 RAM: Kingston Fury Beast 8GB Cooler: Noctua NH-L9i-17xx I hope these will be compatible with an image for DS3622+ and get inside in a Rack Server chassis for 16 HDD with 8643 connectors in backplane (like this one 24 HDD version). The idea is to put a Dual NIC on a PCIe-X (4x) and a SAS Controller on an PCIe-X (8x), and attached at least 12 HDD or up to 16 (if edition of synoinfo.conf allow that). The question is which NIC 10Gbe and HBA adapter will be compatible with DSM 7.1 to get max performance and easiest installation? Someone has something similar? I've tested in the past a 10Gbe NIC Asus XG-C100C without success with DSM 7.1. Which models are actually recognized by TCRP or APRL? And about HBA, which chipsets are more compatible, marvell 88SE9215, ASM1166, another one with at least 6 or 8 SATA. Which models are actually recognized by TCRP or APRL? Thank you so much.
Gracias!
  8. for you can try this loader https://github.com/AuxXxilium/arc or its even more automated version https://github.com/AuxXxilium/arc-automated (less hassle as its menu driven by default as arpl and also claims to support more drives) driver for the nic: atlantic.ko, there are different versions of the driver in the loaders and it might be that newer phy chips are only supported with newer driver versions tcrp: 2.4.15 arpl: 2.5.5.0 arc: 2.5.5.0 ASUS Homepage for the nic https://www.asus.com/supportonly/xg-c100c/helpdesk_download/?model2Name=XG-C100C ASUS XG-C100C Driver Version 5.0.3.3 Version 5.0.3.3 75.59 MB 2021/12/22 1. update driver to ver. 3.0.20.0 2. update linux to ver. 2.4.14.0 so from this it look like the driver versions used in tcrp and arpl should be good enough as asus only uses 2.4.14 also check the log about the driver message after dsm installation (dmesg) it might give you a hint like nic chip detected but unknown phy i might also say that this thread is for 6.2. not for 7.x so on "long" term and further problems create an thread or add to thread about the loader you use, it might also raise the possibility to get proper help for you problem (not much people will look here anymore)

  10. i255 aka igc - intel 2.5G nic chip as long as there is no driver source for older kernels (synlogy does not use kernel 5.x) we can't make driver it wouldd need a someone with coding experience to backport the driver, afair there are 4.x redhat kernel containing a igc driver but there way of backport it was not compatible to synologys kernel but if someone wants to do it i guess that driver might be a good startingpoint https://community.intel.com/t5/Embedded-Connectivity/No-I225-Linux-Driver-IGC-available/td-p/661813 I asked the driver developers directly and it seems that there are no plans to support the IGC drivers for kernel versions < 5.* either use realtek 2.5G (r8125 based, cheap) or use a more common 10G nic (like mellanox from ebay or asus xg-c100c a usb 3.0 based solution with r8152/56 might als be possible
  11. you can have up to 24 if you manually tweak the synoinfo.conf and thats for all three types, so even 3615/17 can do more the the 12 defaut (as jun made the loader he did not touch the drive count in 3615/17 as it seemed high enough at this time for most cases and as 916+/918+ came out with its 4 drive default it was naturally needed to tweak that) also to mention is that 918+ has still a 2 nic limit from its default configuration thats need to be tweaked manually if there are more then 2 nic ports 3617 is the choice when it comes to more then 8 cores (its often pretty ok to just disable HT in bios as "HT core" just give 25% performance of a real core) OR it you are using lsi sas controller you can change dsm type just be exchanging the loader and dsm will offer a migration to the new system (its a official process you can read about on synology's website) there are other options for >1Gbit, either have more then one 1G nic and manually active smb multicahnnel in smb.conf (synology might offer this in the gui in dsm 7.1) or have a 802.3bz/NBASE-T usb bases adapter (pcie like asus XG-C100C or even based usb realtek 8152/8156 have drivers working for all three) intel 2.5G is no option at all, intel doues not deliver driver source outside from kernel 5.x also i had a idea, @pocopico offers precompiled modules not just for dsm 7 but also 6.2 and his r8125.ko is newer then mine so i could just add his module and you test if its working, i was thinking about using his modules to make a new driver extension for 7.0 but why not also using it for 6.2.3's driver extension too, his 8152 driver i 9.006 and thats from 2021 source, very like any 8125 nic around will work with that driver https://github.com/pocopico/3.10.105-modules (and i should ask him about anything special ob building that module like modding the source)
  13. I saw that after I posted my next question is has anyone tried to use Intel PRO/1000 PT Dual Port Server Adapter or the ASUS XG-C100C 10G Network Adapter Pci-E X4 Card with Single RJ-45 Port. Also The cheapest I seen the Intel CT PCIe cards are close to $40.
  14. i would like to install xpenology (newest Version) on my Fujitsu Primergy TX100S3 (32GB Ram, Xeon E3-1220v2) with a 10Gbit ASUS XG-C100C Card inside i have try 918+ , 3615xs , 3617xs but the 10Gbit Card will not work... I need a little bit of help please .... i have no idea what i can do..

  21. about possible hardware GIGABYTE W480M Vision W (microATX, 2 x Pcie 16x (1x16, 1x8), 2xM.2 Nvme, 8xsata) Intel Core i5-10500T, 6C/12T (TDP 35W) cpu can be different the example is low power and affordable 200 bugs the board keeps everything open as it can have nvme and more disks (but 8xsata is a comfy start) might be a overkill of options, if you go with mini-itx you would have less options but might be good enough only negative with the board would be you cant use the 2nd nic as thw 2.5GBit nic from intel has no driver outside kernel 5.x and dsm is based in kernel 3.10 and 4.4 but you already planning a 10G nic ASUS XG-C100C will work but if the systems are not to far apart sfp+ might be a better choice (cheap DAC cable ap to 7.5m and affordable 4 or 8 port switch) (sfp+ would be my choice now because of the switch option, multiport 10G rj45 a way more expansive and power hungry, also sfp+ has a lower latency)

As the Emulex is FTP+ and the Asus is RJ45 I've put a 6COMGIGA 10GBase-T SFP+ RJ45 copper transceiver Module in the Emulex, turned on jumbo frames and now I've got transfer rates from around 915 MB/s write and 990 MB/s read.
