It works for me . Install it under Linux kvm with Xeon(R) CPU E31220L
- Create a dummy kvm host
- Remove all the device (add back once next step is done)
- Edit the xml and change the chipset to Q35 like "<type arch='x86_64' machine='pc-q35-bionic'>hvm</type>"
- Add the img as usb disk (boot)
- Add a data disk (sata)
- Boot up the host , till you see the "Screen will stop updating ...."
- Use the "find synology tool" to search for the new host (for some reason, I am not able to find it via http://find.sy..com )
Able to install the package via web download (DSM 6.2-23739) and reboot also without problem,
Thank Jun for providing such a fun tool to play with ..
if you have nothing in your disk, boot with a USB/CDROM linux and identify the disk you need to format E.G /dev/sda ,, in the console, try "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda count=1 bs=512", it will do a quick format on your disk and can restart the installation again.
Is it possible to export the current setting and import it back every time when the NAS is rebooted. I know it is not the perfect solution, but it will allow the user to update to the latest if they want. .
