  1. I didn't see any other responses in regards to Unraid. I got it working in unraid, here's how. I used these files mentioned previously in the thread ... IMG file from @dynax https://mega.nz/#!w9RkULAR!3_Hhvp7yX3kc ... kRBzxw1ONY PAT file from @oktisme https://mega.nz/#!sQlWSC5C!tgGduyY5bze3 ... 87PrPkx4fc To note, I'm on Unraid 6.2.0 - RC4 (They've made major updates to the VM stuff in the beta, I'd reccomend updating if you havent) Use the img file as the primary hard drive and use driver 'VirtI0' - If you use SATA then when you try to install the PAT DSM thinks the boot disk should be formatted, VirtI0 makes it so DSM can't see the drive. Create a data drive and use SATA driver in the drop down. (If not on beta you have to manually change the driver in the xml file. See below.) (only if you're not on beta) <------------- Change this from bus='virtio'/> to bus='sata'/> After you've created your VM be sure to edit the XML and change the NIC driver - See below. (Whether you're on beta or not you have to make this change every time you edit via web gui.) <------ Change this from to type='e1000'/> Now Boot, find syno, install pat, reboot. - Use EXT4 not BTRFS. That's as far as I've gotten at this point. Working on backing up my DSM5 files and apps, planning on restoring to DSM6. Hopes this helps a fellow Unraid user. -NeoenY152
  2. Thanks for doing such thorough testing stelle007. I went with what you said and turned off the intel chipset all together leaving only 9172 and 9230 on, set to AHCI and although it booted and ran fine for about 2 hours, it did eventually crash one of my disks. Intel off and Marvell set to IDE mode is more stable so far. So although it boots ok, it is still very unstable with AHCI on. When I can get to the machine physically I'm going to do more testing with the Intel controller. Edit: I take that back, I had a drive drop off again even with AHCI on. I guess before I started messing with it today I had it propped up just right to be "stable". I've now switched all 6 drives to the Intel controller, turned off 9172 and left 9230 on. I'll see if this is more stable. It was 14 or 15 from the mobo diagram that kept dying on me. Not sure which one. 14 SATA3 Connector (SATAIII_M2, White) 15 SATA3 Connector (SATAIII_M3, White) -NeoenY152
  3. Ok after quite a few different configs, including a factory reset, here is where I am with a functional xpenology boot up. 9230 enabled 9172 AHCI Mode - This was originally set to IDE mode, and now is set to AHCI. All southbridge configs set to IDE mode. - When they were set to AHCI mode It would hang on boot. I don't think I even have any disk's plugged into the intel controller at this point. Volume is currently healthy but running parity check, so it may be a while before I can reboot and try other configurations. Edit: After running it this way for a couple hours I did lose a drive, which I remembered happening previously. It's very unstable if anything is set to AHCI. So I have switched 9172 back to IDE and booted and I'm having to rebuild my SSD Cache. I am going to try to arrange for testing a hard drive in one of the Intel controller slots tonight. I'll report back with my results. -NeoenY152
  4. Does this help? ^ photostation public album, let me know if it does not work. It actually looks like one of my 120gb SSDs is missing from these screens, I have 6 drives but only 5 are showing here. Let me know if you need more info. -NeoenY152
  5. Hello, I'm not really sure how to go about this or if this has already been requested. But is it possible to add support for this ASRock motherboard (see below) - So that it can be run outside of 'ide mode' (ahci mode). Because of having to run in IDE mode I lose several SATA ports that the board comes with and I'm considering adding more hard drives soon. Hopefully this request is in the right place. 6. Beautiful! kei78 that was it. Unfortunate that I loose 4 ports but I'm not even using them right now so all is well for now. Thanks!
  7. I know we're in a state of flux right now with the 5.2 release, and that's fine. But in the mean time I'd like to get my new system up and running on 5.1, but I'm pulling my hair out while trying. First of all, is anyone running an ASRock Intel Avoton C2750 (the one with 12 sata ports on it). If so how do you have it configured? (which boot loader and DSM are you on, how did you set up the network binding for the IPMI? .... basically how did you get up and running?) Right now if I go with any of the Xpeno bootloaders and the base 5.1-5022 DSM package I get the same results. It will boot to the usb drive and show up in synology assistant. Then I install DSM and it reboots and it never gets an IP (if I chose DHCP) or shows up with the static ip (if I chose static). I watch the console go down clean and come back up clean but I can never access it via web or synology asistant afterwards. The only way I can get a chance to retry a setup is if I boot to gparted, blow away all partitions, and boot to the bootloader again. I'm thinking it has something to do with the IPMI sharing communications on the main nic, when I get home tonight I'm going to try forcing the IPMI to stay on the dedicated port to see what comes of that. Has anyone dealt with this? stelle007 if you see this, I see you have the same mobo. I just created my account so I can't send you a PM, but I think this would be a good open discussion to have.
