It was working fine, but with support waning the expectation that it might still be a viable platform doesn't comfort me. I originally built the box as a DVA3221 which worked perfectly. The only hangup was that my server is a Shuttle Box and the video card blocked the x1 slot which means I had to use USB 3.1 to get 2.5g network connections. That created a different subset of problems. So i moved my plex box to a light unraid install. I gained a few things such as Airvpn wireguard and some better docker support. HDR tone mapping works as well. I love the synology software platform. My data sits on a DS1621+.

I gave up.. with the retirement of wjz304 I decided to move away from a dedicated plex box. Synology and Plex (hw transcoding has always been hit or miss except with the Nvidia NVR route.)
-
The issue still is problematic.. I see there is a new version released 5 days ago.. do we know what was fixed? Edit: My system is still crashing with tone mapping enabled. It was working fine on 7.1.1.

Does this work with tone mapping in plex? When I enable tone mapping, it crashes the video driver

The screen will turn off on a connected monitor when the video driver is loaded properly. This may be what happens in your case. Have you tried connecting via network?

24 i believe. I have an I7-10700 and get 8c/16t just fine.

Is there any particular reason as to why one build would be slower doing the same task? OpenVPN Throughput DS920+ 50+mb/s DVA3221+: ~25-30mb/s Same hardware between installs. (i3-7100T)

So I found something that tanks performance, maybe it's to be expected, but my DS1621+ (R1600 2.2mhz max) was getting better openvpn performance over a 10700 (4.9ghz max) as a DVA3221 build. Performance was half of what it should have been. I coundn't figure it out initially, but changing from dev to prod LKM and booting directly to DSM fixed it. Will this create problems in the future when I need to install updates so that ARPL can do the special patching on reboot?

Is the Realtek R8125 2.5gbe network adapter not supported in ARPL for the 920+? I am not seeing it in the gui under modules (but other Realtek USB based 2.5gbe adapters are there). The adapter works when installing ARPL, but any booting to DSM I have no network. Unfortunately I'm all out of other Nics to test with. The driver shows to be available on Pocopico's repository, but that's not setup as an .addon. Edit: 0.5a1 has the Module (not addon) available and the system installs fine

Redpill - extension driver/modules request
rok1 replied to pocopico's topic in Developer Discussion Room
Unfortunately no support for DVA3221 yet on those repos, or any recent 7.1.0 builds for that matter. I think it's because none of the drivers are put where they need to be? There is no button.ko in /lib/modules Edit: a W10 guest will shutdown fine, so it looks like it might be a linux issue, not DSM. Edit: It's a dietpi issue.. fix https://dietpi.com/forum/t/qemu-guest-agent-shutdown/5898/6 -
Redpill - extension driver/modules request

Is there any chance in getting the acpid driver to properly shut down VMs? If I build a vm, install qemu-guest-agent I get all features except the ability to shut them down via the gui. It's clickable, but the VM never soft shuts down. I've tried 918+, 3622+, DVA3221 ; doesn't work, and I can't remember if it's ever worked for any DSM 7.x builds. I install the redpill-acpid diver fom pocopico's ext repository without issue. -
Not a whole lot. It's a 65w cpu, as is the 10700

I built a DVA3221 system based on an i3-10100 w/ PNY GTX1650 super. Plex works fine with hw encoding. Updated to 7.1.0-42661-u3 without issue. After a week or so of testing, I'll rebuild it in my server case that has an i7-10700 with RTL8125 2.5gbe nics.

I was unable to get a 920+ build to detect hard drives beyond the first one on an H270 based motherboard that has 6 ports after install. Without changing a thing in the bios (drives hotplug enabled) a 918+ build was flawless.

TinyCore RedPill Loader Build Support Tool ( M-Shell )
rok1 replied to Peter Suh's topic in Software Modding
So I'm running into an issue with this. It doesn't detect my 8125 base 2.5gbe and when I use the manual option, it never actually allows me to suggest other modules acpid and 8125 that I definately need. the m.sh script is depreciated so I can't force it.. How do I get past this? Edit: NM I added them manually via rp-loader then ran my.sh.. all good now.
